Playing Suiko3 with Aine, reset to watch the opening three times because the opening is just THAT kick-ass. Mmm. Thoughts, so far... the game drew me in after just a couple of hours. I'm liking Hugo lots (cute kid, he is) and Geddoe (...ged?) is cool. I've finished Hugo's first chapter, onto Ged's first chapter... don't know if I'll play as Chris, because, uh, dude.
Also, Hugo's party has four pages of various sorts of Medicine in the inventory just from beating monsters up, whereas Ged and his people, they are at serious danger of running out of healing items. Still trying to get the hang of the battle system (pairing up? what pairing up?) and getting beat up by almost everything that's coming my way...
Wednesday
9:38 PM
At the height of the excitement tonight, there were an actual seven users in the library.
...anyway.
Jo-chan, uh, out of curiosity, what's the connection between Drama and Singaporean universities? Serious question. And, uh, sleep more. Tried the theory that if you can't see them, they can't see that your eyes are closed? That is, when your eyes are open and you're looking at them. Er, this regarding sleeping during class, which I seem to do an inordinate amount of these days. Doesn't work if your teachers like to move around.
5:44 PM
What kind of freak goes to school again at 6pm? But that's library for you.
It's going to rain, and I think I'm going to be late. Whee.
4:16 PM
Sui3 Sui3 Sui3!
No initial thoughts yet, except, um, "man, what the fuck is up with the battle music?"
Must go back to school later for night duty. This displeases me. It's the time of the year for general stocktaking and mass shelf-reading, and the non-fiction section has been cordoned off for that. Not that I think it'll actually help for more than, oh, maybe 4.5 seconds, because the 500s of non-fiction section, it is macroscopic entropy in action.
Monday
8:08 PM
Fairly sure now that Wild ARMs 3 is a direct sequel to Wild ARMs. And... it just made me fall off my chair and start hyperventilating. The female lead, she is kind of a ditz, but hee hee /hee/.
This is me being carefully spoiler-free as I can manage. Around 7 hours into the game, and the plot, it is coming along very, very slow. The formula seems to be Dungeon -> Irritating boss -> Exposition -> Looking for location of next dungeon, ad nauseum. I could /really/ do without the whole search system on the overworld that carried over from Wild ARMs 2. Because, man, is it ever annoying.
...but I get to ride horsies. /Horsies/, damn the hide of the game system! Also, there are hell of a lot of puzzles in the game. Which makes going through dungeons more interesting maybe, but also annoying, sometimes. Because some of the puzzles, they have such /stupid/ solutions. This is me, using every tool that I have, trying to get past an obstacle. Finally, I give up and accidentally /run into it/. And it... works.
Saturday
11:19 PM
Hotmail? ..fuck you.
Wild ARMs 3 is growing on me like mold in a warm, damp place. Slowly, steadily, and in spots. It seems a lot more like a sequel to Wild ARMs than Wild ARMs 2 was. And... horsies. There are horsies in the game, words cannot express how utterly delighted I am! And the music's good.
Re: This month's DNAngel... nothing much of note, lots of Riku and Risa, but that's speaking of the chapter itself. Speaking of the /colour pictures/... god. Scans forthcoming. This month's Asuka comes with a gorgeous DNAngel poster, Daisuke on one side, Dark on the other, and... 14-year-olds shouldn't be allowed to be that sexy. The poster's too big to scan, though.
Friday
3:39 PM
Wild ARMs 3 is... okay. I have several Issues with the controls and the camera, but the characters, they are fun. (Except one of them, who annoys the hell out of me, but hey.)
Although, pressing and holding X to make the character charge forward until they ram into something? That is a /really stupid way/ to run.
Thursday
6:33 PM
Today in class,
"The four main concerns of an economist are employment, income, um... stability and... uh... ..." "...LOVE! >D
For the first time in many, many weeks, I have served the full 5 o'clock term of Thursday! I guess I'll have to stay for the whole day tomorrow, too, because I can't cut anymore class. People were dropping like flies by lunchtime today, though. I think at least seven people took blue slips and went home early, and some others didn't even come to school. Whee.
Lost my wallet this morning, found it again in the afternoon. Was /terribly/ stressed during the period where I hadn't found it yet, though, and my Chemistry tutor caught me when I was writing "fuck" over and over again in my notebook, which was mildly embarrassing.
Got Wild ARMs 3. Suikoden 3, the guy says, comes in next Monday or Tuesday. I might not expect to see me around for a while.
You know what? I need to clear out ye olde email account.
And I /really/ need to hammer into the heads of the people that I work with on various this-thing-or-others, /I don't have powerpoint, stop sending me those things/.
My project work group's oral presentation is on the very last day of school. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or bad thing. I do know we're probably totally unprepared (speech? what speech?) or, at least, I am, because the presentation stuff, they are being handled by the other group members who mostly sat on their asses while I was working on the written report. Mm, delegation.
Today was supposed to be the dry run of the presentation thing. Out of four members in my group, two came. And I keep falling asleep during lectures. I'm also not looking forward to having three periods of Chemistry tomorrow, since there aren't any practicals, as the seniors are having their practical exams now (good luck to the people having their A/O-level exams now. n.nx).
Last I checked, the games store had neither Wild ARMs 3 or Suikoden 3. Going again on Saturday. If it still fails to have neither of the two games, sulking shall be had.
I feel wordy. Yadda, yadda, yadda, and all that.
9:05 PM
Managed to somehow thump my elbow on the TV while coming into the room, scraping it quite nicely and now it is bleeding.
Night duty, it is so boring. But I did get to read random scientific magazines, that was fun.
Tuesday
7:56 PM
Ayame/Hatsuharu... this thing is addictive.
5:15 PM
...Hanagata x Muraki.
Stopping now.
5:12 PM
*refresh* Cloud x Akito. *refresh* Shinji x Heero. *refresh* Kakyou x Tsuzuki. *refresh* Black Haru x White Haru. ...dead. Oh god. Someone write that. No, someone /don't/ write that.
Or... I would have, but there are no free cups in the house.
4:00 PM
Home. Was eating some manner of fairly nasty thing that claimed to be butter cake. It may have been, but it was nasty, and I suppose, to my credit, I stopped eating it when I realised that. Have a headache and am cutting class (have cut class? class would be over by now), I really ought to stop doing that.
Today, in school, we played captain's ball and I managed not to get hit by anything. That's an accomplishment, I'm sure. The Suiko2 playthrough has been started but is not going anywhere because I'm still sulking over the Suiko1 data not loading, so I only played about an hour or less. Jowy and the main character kid, who I called Riou out of no imagination and convenience, they delight me. So do Flik and Viktor, but that's not anything new.
I'm going to get a drink to wash the wierd taste out of my mouth now.
Sunday
10:17 PM
My mother has snagged my Kabuki and is reading it before I had the chance to. I don't know what this says, but I'm sure it says something.
She was also reading the Preacher that I gacked off Jo-chan, at which I went "..." and "...uh oh," at, but her only comment so far has been to ask why I'm reading such a violent comic. I'm fairly sure I saw her with Poison Elves, too.
...putting the blog down now.
8:43 PM
You are Viktor x Star Dragon Sword! ................. Uhm well... there was that line about "You sure know how to treat a man." And the one about "a relationship I can't get away from." Let's uh... just not think about the particulars of that one.
Kaori-chan- Sure! Dibs on Kyou and Ayame, though. Psst, free next Saturday, or something? To go out to lunch with Kit? You and you too.
8:04 PM
And so we were playing handball during PE again. It seems to be this curse of mine that as soon as I stop paying attention to a ball, it hits me. Once, I was looking somewhere else, and it bounced quite neatly off my head. The second time, it bounced off my shoulder. The /third/ time, it got me in the arm.
A friend of mine has taken to calling me the bouncer. This happened during basketball, too. I was standing beneath the net while my friends were shooting hoops, and, thump. And basketballs are a lot heavier than handballs.
Suikoden 2 is still being a bitch. I hate you. >.>x.
I'm brushing my hair and it's static electricitying again. Yeah, yeah, easily amused.
12:17 PM
Finished Suikoden (whee) with all stars (whee!) and... SUIKODEN 2 WILL NOT ACCEPT MY SAVE DATA. Final save point and everything, it just refuses to believe Suikoden 1 data exists.
...FUCK YOU, GAME.
Also, Emperor Barbarosa is a bitch. But only because I didn't know I had to kill the leftmost head first, and hammered the right one with everything I had, only to have it get revived the next turn after its death.
... ...ARGH.
Although, you know what? Got to love a character who, after making presidency, sneaks out of the capital in the middle of the night and takes up fishing. /Fishing/. And I love Flik and Viktor. I would hug them. Hug hug hug.
Friday
5:58 PM
Meimi? Hugs and hammers, for use on you and that girl respectively.
5:47 PM
School is incredibly boring these days. Whee. Cut class today and had lunch with Aine, she's now playing FF8 in the other room. Squall and Rinoa scenes bore me, so I... am not.
I also spent a significant amount of time earlier trying to tell someone that 1 and 0 were not fractions. He appeared to believe I was the one at fault for not believing they were. It takes all types, I guess.
Also, I'm replaying Suikoden. I /will/ get all 108 stars! And I /will/ complete Suiko2 with all 108 stars and McDohl! And I /will/ port that game over to Suiko3 when I finally manage to get it! I hope that they allow you to port the save games over, though. I heard they did, if they don't, I shall be displeased. (but i should complete suiko2 at least, since i never did. having rushed through the game for the story, and ending up at the final dungeon with pathetic levels.)
Was also playing Legaia 2. Fairly fun, but it's kind of just a game that's... there... so one has something to do while waiting for Wild ARMs 3 and Suikoden 3. WA3 is out, but the store doesn't have it in yet, so, blah.
Jo-chan? That big buff gay cop manga you like so much? The next book is out. And that dude you mentioned who looks Angel Sanc-ish? That would be because he's Setsuna.
Wednesday
8:11 PM
I'm brushing my hair, and it is crackling with static electricity. /That's/ never happened before.
Tuesday
6:28 AM
Holy shit, haze. I walked into the room, glanced out of the window, and even Junction 8 is a bit of a blur.
Unpleasant.
Monday
5:54 PM
Also, I got a shirt. A real shirt-thing, not a t-shirt. And it's red. Very vividly and bloody red.
I like that shade.
4:56 PM
So. Results. B, B, B, and... uh, well, B. An improvement from my common tests at least, but that, it is not saying very much. Pleased enough with Chem and Econs.
Would take S papers, but they're for if you want scholarships, and if you want a scholarship, you'd have to take two, and... I kind of want to have a life next year.
In other news, there was a fire drill today, during Contact Time, when I was waiting to get a blue slip and go home early. This is the second fire drill, and this is the second time this has happened. >.>;x It was all like... "Um, can I get a blue slip?" "'kay, you just sit over there for a bit, I have a few announcements to make..." "... .... ......." "Oh, and there might be a fire-drill today, so all of you just..." *RIIIIIIIIIIIIIING* "=.=;;;;;x"
And then it rained very very hard. That was quite pleasant.
We played handball in school today. It was fairly fun, except for the bit where I stopped to tie my hair, and /everybody/ decided to throw the ball at me at that point. Even when I caught the goalkeeper with the ball and looking at me, and was kind of going "/Don't/ throw the ball at me! /Don't/ throw the ball at me!", and he threw the ball at me.
I also think it was the Single Game of Handball With The Most Fouls. Twenty people on one undersized netball court. The teacher deciding not to enforce the one-hand throw rule ('the name of the game is /hand/ball! /hand/ball, not /hands/ball! throw with one hand, people!') because he would probably be blowing the whistle every time the ball was passed.
The PE teacher taking us for double period PE is funny. Kind of... scary, but funny. And an okay teacher to have for double period, since double period is games, but I wouldn't want him for single period conditioning.
7:51 PM
Kit: Sure! My exams are done, hers are done, but theirs will be done next week.
5:32 PM
Culturally Imperialist Justice would be a great name for a band.
4:35 PM
For the first time in a week, I can go to sleep without wet hair. This pleases me.
Wednesday
10:04 PM
On the other hand, I have frootloops. Heh heh.
10:03 PM
The school library, I quite like. Well, I sort of have to, I'm a librarian. Anyway, the school library, I quite like, only it is, like lots of other things, oppressive in large doses. Six hours of doing random things behind the counter, because Wednesday is my earliest day dammit and it saves staying back on other days, counts as fairly a large dose. And oppressive.
Also, one of the teachers in charge of the library (not to be mistaken for the staff librarians, who actually have a clue) was down today, helpfully 'overseeing' the preparations for Open Day (anyone coming down to my jc?) this Saturday, helpful meaning, apparently, throwing out half the plans and saying that she did not Like our Choice of Books for display (of which a list had already been given to her prior, might i add), because, um, I was a little fuzzy on her reasoning at that point. Because we are a Library, and should Thus Display our Wide Range of Available Reading Material (which is not, in fact, very wide, nor much of a range. since non-fiction books were out ('we want to show that we're /not/ just a focus on academic material, you see!' ...but we are) and the fiction section is fairly, well, pathetic) and not be Limited to Just A Few Authors and Topics. (some other choices, hastily selected from the aep library, 'and they have to be new! look at all these books, they're so tattered and torn!', were vetoed for not having enough colour on the cover. no, really.)
And we were out of paper for backgrounding the display boards, and let's not even get into the lady wanting books on Sept. 11. ('...huh? what the hell does this have anything to do with anything, yo? ...do we even /have/ books on september 11?' '...we have magazines.' 'they'll have to do.' the magazines were later also not accepted for not being too old.)
...later, a couple of us just took refuge in the Instructions Room, looking for CD boxes to display and talking crap. In the dark. And then I had night duty, some of which I spent reading a book on plants. It was a very large book and kept me occupied while... the other person on duty with me fell asleep on the chair.
Monday
3:54 PM
For some reason, I have a sudden craving for Frootloops.
subaru and seishirou clamp fanfiction - as opposed to Subaru and Seishirou Yuu Higuri fanfiction, of course. Only if it were Subaru and Seishirou Yuu Higuri, Seishirou would turn into a girl when he smelled Sakura petals, everybody would want to rape Subaru, and Hokuto would be a pirate.
And just as an aside, again on the scale of 'dude, what the fuck?', puppetry of the penis! Whereby two Australian guys tour the world, displaying penis tricks for all to see. No, really. According to nome, that is. This is nome's fault.
Oh, it is. Most excellent fun. Dig your layout completely, by the way. Dante! XD
3:40 PM
Swag, swag swag swaaaaaaaaag and no more exams and free time for all of a weekend!
To whit, 11 volumes of random manga, Preacher 2, Poison Elves 1, and I, Lucifer. And Dual Hearts, because the store was out of Grandia Xtreme, the cads. And also, I will play more of Kingdom Hearts and swear I'm going to beat Sephiroth, dammit.
Thursday
10:52 AM
To: The people repeatedly setting off the whatever the fuck that was siren at 11pm From: Me Re: Repeatedly setting off whatever the fuck that was siren at 11pm
And now, NEVER DO IT AGAIN.
Boom shanka, Me.
Wednesday
7:29 PM
Chemistry! I missed two questions for completely, completely /dumbfuck/ reasons. I mean, /beyond/ carelessness. "It's been three hours and I am no longer capable of coherent thought" type dumbfuck. I'm pissed at me now.
