...This is still Frank's fault. ALL of it. XD Chibi Ryuuichi! Wai! Thanks Kaori~! XD Chibi-Ashton!

Tuesday

8:20 PM

So, quoth she, "My printer isn't working. Can I send the slides to you, and you print them out?"

So, says I, "Sure. But there's a slight problem. I don't have powerpoint."

So, quoth she, "I'll send you the text for the introduction, and you can see what you can do about recreating the background."

So, says I, "Sure, no problem."

So I receive her email, and there's the introduction... /in a powerpoint file/.

I'm going to work through this "/.../" feeling now, and see what of the text I can dig up from the thing.

Monday

7:01 PM

* azhreia wonders if anyone else finds it worrying that a site, purportedly helping people diagnose/understand/come to terms with a personality disorder has so many spelling and grammatical errors it looks like it was written by a 17 year old on speed ? not to mention the cheesy midi music with no play controls ?
* Meia on speed has excellent typing skillx0rs!
<Carlton> You're on speed?
<Meia> No, but I wish I was. It might make writing essays more interesting.
<Carlton> It'd probably make them more interesting to read.
<Meia> You know, like "Firms operating under perfect competition have horizontal demand curves because of all the mushrooms."
<Carlton> Or acid... "The demand curve flattens... then it goes all multi-coloured and bendy... and it's winking at me, man! It's winking!"

Sunday

7:27 PM

So I ask Google for pictures of mee siam, and get given Senior Minister Lee Kuan Yew.

I have no words, really.

Friday

10:23 PM

Critter? Baby, stop playing the yo-yo?

This is the Biology practical I had this afternoon. You know, I really don't like milk. I'm good with flavoured milk and milk-based products, but I hate the taste of milk (it's a wierd pattern. i used to drink a lot of milk when i was young, now i can't stand it. my friend didn't drink so much, i don't think, and now she drinks a pack a day at school. well), because, eww. And I'm finding that I like handling milk that's been left at room temperature for a couple of hours a great deal less. I mean, pipetting that stuff into a dropper, and while trying to clean my apparatus, I couldn't get the solid milk gunk /out/. And I touched it. >.>;;x

10:07 PM

So the first thing my handphone did, half a year ago when it got tetchy, was to kill the screen display. /Now/ it's killing the sound, so I can't hear a thing when I call someone, or someone calls me.

I expect the touchpad will be the next to go.

The point being, for them people who keep in contact with me via that thing, the phone is going to be sent off to repair... sometime. At least I can still SMS. >.>x

In other news, I watched Minority Report. Eyeball jokes just became /that much/ less funny. Cool movie, though.

4:15 PM

So I'm revisiting my love for printed gay dripping with angst. Too bad I never actually got my own copy of Magic's Price, although I kept /meaning/ to, so I can't finish reading the set.

And even though Magic's Promise is more like filler than anything else, Vanyel's life still manages to suck hard.

Wednesday

8:57 PM

And happy belated birthday, Shi-chan! Good luck for everything.

8:31 PM

More advertisements for the X fighting game. So, so painful. But so much gleeful evil could be wrought with it, and I /so/ want my hands on a copy. XD And while me and Aine were eyeing the ads, we got into a long conversation about how it might be done...

Pick any of the 14 Dragons to play during story mode! I guess if you choose a Chi no Ryuu, your storyline would be about destroying humanity, and if you chose a Seal, you'd be fighting to save it. And if you're playing Kamui, the final boss is Fuuma, who goes through three transformations, ending with Good!Fuuma, and if you don't kill him, the world ends. XD

And if you played Subaru, the fight with Seishirou would be set on Rainbow Bridge. (which lead to the exchange "Received Seishirou's Eyeball! Keep Yes/No?", but) And after that, Fuuma'd show up to give Subaru The Eye, but then since it's a fighting game, Subaru has to go a couple of rounds with Fuuma in order to, you know, prove himself worthy. Then you get the option of either keeping the eye and continuing the story as a DoE, or rejecting it, and staying as a DoH.

Such bastardization of X. But such fun. MORE evil fun if tag teams are considered.

'course, this later lead to a long, detailed conversation about "What if Tokyo Babylon had an RPG?". It'd
follows Subaru on one of his jobs, of course, and you get the option of playing either Subaru, Hokuto, or Sei-chan. And in the beginning of the game, playing as Subaru, before Hokuto-chan permanently joins the party, she occasionally drags Subaru out on mini-games for new outfits. After she's a permanent member, you can change outfits at will. XD

And occasionally along the game, Subaru gets summons from his grandmother. If he goes through the meeting okay, he gets new skills and upgrades, but if he botches it up, he, well, doesn't. There are also relationship points for seeing how each character likes the other (kind of like the sims, you know)--going to see his grandmother lowers the Subaru/Sei-chan relationship a bit. Also, scattered around the place are hidden shikigami, and finding them triggers "first meeting with Sei-chan" flashbacks. The more that are found, and the better the Subaru/Sei-chan relationship towards the end, the more likely the chances of getting the ending where, well, the shit hadn't yet hit the fan. Otherwise, uh, the other ending would be the canonical TB ending. (other ideas thrown around were the "sakura tree as final boss" one.)

Random other bits would be the cutscenes where Subaru and Sei-chan are being cute, subsequently interrupted by Hokuto-chan. Playing as Hokuto, one would have the option not to disturb the two, but then you wouldn't be able to see the cutscene either, then. And if you were playing as Sei-chan, you'd have to go on occasional side-quests to feed the Tree, otherwise you can't get new spells/abilities and the power of your magic declines. These side-quests decrease Su/Sei relationship points, too. If Subaru Game Overs in battle, there's a chance that Sei-chan will come and save the day, only if this happens, it ups the chances of getting the other ending.

If you played as Hokuto, you could bake cookies in a mini-game! And they would restore HP, the amount of which depending on how well the cookies were made. Burnt cookies only restoring half or a quarter the amount that well done cookies would, and all. And if Sei-chan's in the party while making cookies, but Subaru is not, you'd get to see the cutscene where Hokuto threatens Sei-chan with a knife, as in volume 4 of TB. Occasionally while sleeping, you get dreams from Kakyou, and after a while, can perform a side-quest whereby Hokuto enlists help in getting Kakyou out of his house arrest, after which he subsequently joins the party. XD Only obtainable if playing as Hokuto, of course.

I'd play an RPG like that! Although we're probably going to hell for twisting TB to our own amusement in this manner. ...But I still think it's funny.

8:16 PM

I figure that I'm the black hole of the T3 communal novel/manga pile.

On the to-read list:
Tale of Murasaki (Kaori's, since, uh, last year.)
Kushiel's Dart (Jo-chan)
Gates of Sleep (Jo-chan)
Two volumes of random yaoi manga (Aine-chan)
Three volumes of random shoujo manga (Jo-chan)
Agyar (Is that the title? Steven Brust novel, Jo-chan)

And more that's around, I bet. Uh, well. Jo-chan is the other black hole, because we /never/ see her. >.>x

In other news, DNAngel in this Asuka! And Lagoon Engine, too, but I don't read Lagoon Engine. But. DNAngel. Summary and scans later maybe, but now I have to plot to kill Sugisaki Yukiru. >.>x

And this months X is basically... "Look, fangirls, Subaru! Oops, missed it." Then we didn't even need to really read Kakyou's and Hinoto's conversation to get what was going on. We figure that we could programme a MegaHal to write the X dialogue, by feeding it a lot of "mirai", "FUUMA!" "Kamui", "the future is not yet decided", and "eyeball".

And at the very end, shirtless!Sorata. And Foreshadowing, but what else is new?

Tuesday

8:06 PM

("What's this book about?"

*points at cover* You see this guy? He's gay. And then his life sucks. Big, big suckage. It's like this... huge orgy of life-sucking."

"...I don't think I'll read it.")

I am very bad at describing books.

7:38 PM

6am this morning: Oh look, a voice-mail! Wonder who it's from.

7am this morning: WORK, damn phone! *whackwhackwhackwhackwhack* ...Thank you.

7.15 am this morning: "Hi, this is the library society! One of the people on night duty can't make it, so can you do duty on the 23rd of July, from 6pm to 7pm?"

7.17am: 23rd of July... *looks at watch* "23 / 7". July... that's next month, right?

(*continues thinking that July is next month for five minutes, whacks phone some more, replays the message because the phone ate some of it*)

7.20am: ...No, it's today.

7.22am: ...=.=;;x

...I'm never at my best in the mornings, no. But then after figuring out the message, I spent the rest of my time reading Magic's Pawn, so all's good. I finished my homework, too.

Monday

8:23 PM

w00t. It's Kubota and Tokitou from one of the pictures at the back of WA2. They're adorable, aren't they? XD And they are kinda cute in the manga itself, but the story's darker than ExecCom. And way more interesting, even though I, uh, can only fully get half of what's going on. But hey, drugs and guns and drugs and guns.

If I was less... something, I would have subtitled this layout "back in black". But I'm not, so I didn't.

8:21 PM

Test, test...

6:18 PM

*thud* Nothing better than having an extra hour twenty of Math tutorial suddenly spring out on your from nowhere, like a, a, cunning wolf with claws extended or... somesuch. All of a sudden it was like, "There's a /what/ after school?" >.>;x

But I'm sort of on schedule with homework, at least, until of course I completely fail to finish my Bio. n.nx

Sunday

7:37 PM

It has no face.

Isn't it /CUTE/? Kitty-kat.

2:47 PM

My parents also think it would be a good idea for me to get a scholarship. Excuse me while I go over here and die of laughter.

(not that scholarships wouldn't be peachy, but i didn't actually keep my grade breakdown from them, so, uh, scholarship?)

2:28 PM

So my sister and dad were arguing business stuff at the restaurant during lunch today, and all I can say is that even though I'm studying Econs and kind of like it, I'm never going into business. Yeah. I'll go and... dunno. But not business.

I got books 3-4 of Lumen Lunae, too. I... still actually can't decide whether or not I like it. The main character doesn't interest me much. The only few things I've established are-

1) Everyone wants to have sex with the main character, even his brother, and, oddly enough, himself.
2) The main character doesn't /want/ to have sex with /everyone/, but
3) The main character ends up having sex with everyone, anyway.

And I got The Bouncer yesterday. It was okay, but /short/. So, so short. Lots of things could have been done with it, then it... ended. n_nx So sad.

Friday

9:15 PM

Sarah: I don't buy frozen rats, but a friend of mine used to. Uh, here. Can't personally vouch for them, but they're rodents. And they're frozen. And they're, well, online.

Got and read books 1-2 of Lumen Lunae. I'm... not actually sure whether or not I like it. But thoughts will come later, since now I have to shower.

Thursday

9:18 PM

Singapore? This is getting ridiculous. Get your own fecking game shows, you.

Wednesday

7:42 PM

Found my notebook, and my sister brought the digicam cables back, so random living space pictures! Whee.

Tuesday

9:05 PM

My handphone's apparently decided to stop vibrating, too. *blink* My, such a litany of small woes. >.>;;x

On the upside though, my dad got the cutest bag when he came back from Hong Kong. The sides are made of denim, while the rest is leather, like the base, sides and straps. /White/ leather, which makes me twitchy when it comes to actual use of the bag, but it's very very cute.

Although it's more handbag style, which I don't have much use for, and it's not quite big enough (since my criteria for the proper size of a bag is 'able to fit 1-2 volumes of manga, handphone, notebook, pencil, eraser, and discman comfortably', although since it's handbag style, it's not suited for listening to music anyway) , but it is /screamingly/ cute. It amazes me in how cute it is.

At least I have a dressy bag for use when I'm going to... places. My family went >.> at me when I brought my beat up old Elle bag to the Alma Mater function last year, but I didn't particularly have anything else.

It's a really, really old bag, though. It used to be my sisters, and I recall using it when I was in Primary school, which is nigh five, six years ago. It wasn't new /then/, either, but it's a good bag.

5:21 PM

Or it could be in my dad's car. Or not. Fuck, fuck fuck fuck.

4:47 PM

Excuse me while I have a brief but profound 'oh fuck' moment.

My black notebook is missing. It wasn't in my bag this morning, if it's not at home, that means I lost in in school.

OH FUCK.

4:42 PM

For my next amazing trick, I shall completely excise "blargh" from my vocabulary!

Or maybe I won't, but I think I've been saying it too much.

4:39 PM

So we were talking about a comprehension exercise today in GP, and there was something about Navaho rugs in it. And my GP tutor told us that Navaho rugs were rugs made from the fleece of the Navaho sheep, which lived on the Irish Highlands, which were very special sheep because of their lemming-like behaviour. That is, that every year during summer, their coats would be so thick and unbearably hot that they'd jump off the cliffs into the sea, and Navaho sheep farmers would harvest their fleece from the corpses. Then, of course, she laughed at us.

Because, you know, god /forbid/ we trust our GP tutor.

But, okay, fine. Lemming sheep. I'd pay to see that! And I still, uh, don't know what Navaho is.

Monday

7:59 PM

I really like Econs.

It makes so much sense, when it makes sense.

6:22 PM

Wild Adapter 2! It's, uh, very yellow. But hey.

So, you know, when Chicken Soup for the Soul first came out, it was mildly amusing. Kind of like... metaphysical brain chocolate, or something, although I'm not going to try and explain the metaphor.

Then when the seventh book of CSftS came out, it was no longer amusing, but all... commercialised and stuff.

And now that there's Chicken Soup for your Mother's Brother's Uncle's Former Gay Roommate's Pet Hamster's Fleas' Soul, it's just... ... ...dude.

Brought to you by: Browsing around Kino for an hour after school today.

Sunday

4:21 PM

Math tuition. Blargh.

Now I am just going downstairs to flop on the couch and read fantasy paperbacks, because it's been a long time since I flopped down anywhere to read fantasy paperbacks.

10:46 AM

I had a dream this morning about reading a dictionary. No, really. And the dictionary had Harry Potter fanfic in it, although God only knows why. It also had basic (and incorrect) French, but I didn't know it at the time. That it was incorrect, I mean, not that it was French.

Then later I had a dream involving being in a new school and... people who were in the new school and it was quite interesting, but I can't remember much.

But yeah. Dictionary.

Saturday

12:22 PM

Hm. Well, I feel okay now, but I think Aine has my cold. Uh, oops?

Listening comprehension today was... blah. Easy enough. It's an exercise to basically gift marks to people so they actually have chances at passing the exam, or... something, anyway. I ended up writing on the cover of the paper before it started, and drawing on the questions after that.

There's an open bridge-like thing connecting two blocks of my school together. It's basically a floor, two half-walls, and a sort of ceiling. Walking across it while it was raining this morning was cool and wet and windy, and walking home from J8 later was wetter and colder still. Although I don't have anything against walking through rain. I get twitchy where the water's dripping from the edges of roofs or awnings, though, because you just... don't know what the water's coming with. >.>;x

I like my school's design. Sure, it's built on a hill, and some bits are pretty old and out of the way, but the staircases out in the open, some of which don't really lead /anywhere/, are cool...

Friday

1:58 PM

Wow, I feel like shit.

Wednesday

7:26 AM

So my dad gave me his cold (right on time for my oral exam yesterday! and i was a dumbass and forgot to bring tissue into the waiting hall). Gee, but nothing brightens your day better than blowing your nose and getting blood on the paper.

In other news, oral exam-- /blargh/. I can give a dissertation on humans and the environment, I'm sure. Just... not in Chinese. Also, how does one say "Ozone layer" in Chinese?

I like dissertation. It's a cool word. I think I'm going to pop a Panadol and go back to sleep now.

Monday

8:52 PM

One day, I will have a pair of shoes that don't rub my feet raw.

Until then, I...'ll have a pair of shoes that rub my feet raw, I guess.

Look, Angel Sanctuary 1000 piece puzzle of the picture that I still can't figure out features Sara or Rociel! Although I won't have the space to /do/ it until I complete the Tidus puzzle and get it off my desk.

Sunday

9:50 PM

It's slightly creepy to have to fish ants out of your cup before you can actually drink the water, yo.

And you know, maybe I should stop with my habit of drinking water straight from the bottle instead of pouring it into the cup, because good lord how did THAT many little insects get into my drinking water? O.o;x

4:27 PM

Translated part of DNAngel volume 5 for Liz and fun. Drat languages that can be grammatically accurate without a subject. And, occasionally, without a subject /and/ object.

Public service announcement, DNAngel 6 is out in Chinese, and so is Data 4 for the people who read it.

Saturday

11:35 PM

I have jellybeans! And I thought they didn't exist on Singapore anymore. Not the Jelly Belly type anyway. It's the 39-assorted-flavours type, and not the pick and mix, which means I have to avoid the really nasty ones, like peanut butter. But hey, jelly beans! I like jelly beans.

Also, it is late and I have had quite a lot of candy. Life is good.

Friday

8:20 PM

So I was wondering just why I felt so BLAAAARGH at the end of the day today, when I didn't yesterday on less sleep and another 5pm school day. Then just now it got pointed out that I had PE in the morning.

Right. Stupid me. Maybe I'll go to sleep insanely early tonight.

Thursday

9:29 PM

It does, however, suck to be Kira-sempai. As has been previously established. And often.

I must needs glue a bunch of beauty advertisements onto pieces of paper! And I have no glue. But I have scotchtape. A lot of scotchtape. So I guess I'll use that.

6:07 PM

You wouldn't think library to be a hot and sweaty kind of CCA, but when the a/c is off at the area and you have a trolley full of heavy computer books to push around and shelve, it rather is. The trolley squeaked, too. Badly. Loudly. Nails-on-chalkboard...ly. But I don't have to do anymore duty this week, so blargh.

There's a condemned books and random paperback sale at Parklane. Some of the stuff is actually good, like Orson Scott Card or Piers Anthony for $2.50, whee. Also got a copy of Slow Chocolate Autopsy there, which I haven't read yet, but I'm planning to once I'm done with Angel Sanc and all. Mm, Angel Sanc.

I have this distinct feeling that I should feel like it would suck to be Katou, but... I don't. Although it rather does. Suck to be him, that is. (but that goes for every angel sanctuary character. i think we tried to come up with /one/ as character that it wouldn't suck to be, and came up... blank.) Point? No point. I just like Katou.

Wednesday

9:21 PM

Got all of Angel Sanc back from Aine-chan.

Fun time today. Now I have to hurry and get the stuff ready for my project work to turn in tomorrow, so I'll snap to it.
