Friday

10:15 PM

Something outside my window somewhere has been playing the first few bars of the Star Wars theme in tinny synthetic... noises. I'm thinking it might be the temporary field carnival next to J8 now. But I think I've heard it in the afternoon a few times, and uh, J8 is a 10-15 minute walk from my place, I'm 18 storeys up, and sounds travels, but if it's travelling /that/ far...

Quite faint, though. Just wierd.

7:38 PM

...

7:20 PM

Had an ice-cream craving, so I walked to the mall, but 7-11 didn't have the flavour I wanted. So I went and had iced coffee instead.

I'm sure four hours from now I'll remember why I never drink coffee at this time of day, but it's the holidays and it was good coffee. Mm. Coffee. Iced.

Meimi, wrote. But, uh, it blew, so I kicked it back into hiding. Am planning on fixing the ending sometime, since I thought it had some promise, but I am... not showing it out even after that. ^^;;x If you want, if it's ever finished, I can... (dig the new layout, by the way! and am interested in that manga you mention...)

1:14 PM

But I got a stressball. Happy fun stressball. *squish, squish*

1:06 PM

Most boring test. Ever. =.=;;x Actually, it was okay, except the first half really was very boring. And the math hurt my brain. >.>;x I'm not quite sure what it was all about, but I expect the only comment on the personality section would be... "allergic to religion". And, uh, they'd probably be right.

It was freezing in the lecture theatre, too, and halfway through, it started raining outside. X.x I was so cold, I had a headache. Because my nose was frozen or something, I don't know. And sploshing to the bus stop via way of the always flooding shelter dyed my shoelaces vaguely orange from the mud.

Thursday

5:16 PM

Me: *prod*
Tohruangstficbunny: ...X.X.
Me: Well, damn.

1:43 PM

The holiday paradox--It's boring because I have nothing to do. But then it's a /holiday/ because I have nothing to do. But it's /boring/. Or maybe I, uh, should catch up on my Chemistry. Paid attention during lecture today and could follow some of the calculation, although it involved a lot of looking through notes. I'm kind of the world's... hugest slacker. Studying for me tends to involve reading the textbook or through my notes until I get bored and wander off to do something else, then maybe I come back to read through them again, and then I wander off...

Which probably explains why the period between the end of the prelims and the beginning of the O-levels was a mess of memorizing chunks of the Biology textbook. And other stuff. I'm bad like that.

1:16 PM

Miniature class celebration for June babies. Or, as someone else said, 'shortest party. ever.' in which nothing much happened except for a lot of cake getting on one of the guys. And photoes.

On the bus on the way home, with some guys sitting somewhere at the back, one of them pretending quite loudly to be a gangster or something over the phone, to the amusement of his friends. Torn between irritation and finding it kind of funny. Seem to have lost control of pronouns. Or whichever. Have some wierd psychometric test thing tomorrow, which kind of sucks, 'cos otherwise I wouldn't have to go to school at all, since I don't have any class on that day.

Wednesday

5:32 PM

I'm still the first hit for worm humping french fry. Well.

Worm humping french fry. /Worm humping french fry/. Worms and french fries. And humping.

People are pretty wierd.

12:28 PM

So, uh... make-up Biology lectures are kind of crap. I took Biology in the first three months, I do know this stuff, and the Bio-Lite versions they're going through aren't really helping much. Beh. And my Chemistry is pretty much dead.

And a classmate of mine (one of the second intake students i tend to hang around with, whichever) is constantly complaining about the school we're in now and how her previous JC was better and her previous JC wasn't lame and her previous JC had teachers that didn't suck and her previous JC had students who weren't mindless automatons and... bleh. Do I look like an automaton to you? Stop generalizing about the students here, you don't even know half of them. If you liked your previous JC that much, go back there. If you can't, stay here, suck it up, and /deal/. >.>x

Having had experiences with Bitch Teachers from Hell in my previous school, I am at least appreciative of the teachers here that do not suck. The teachers here /don't/ suck, I don't care how much more you liked your previous teachers. You're not there now, and if you refuse to at least let yourself be taught, then that's your problem, and stop complaining about it. >.>x Rarr.

In other news, almost half of my subject tutors are abandoning us next semester. Even the PE teacher. My Math tutor was a relief teacher waiting to go to university, my Chemistry tutor was also a relief teacher and she's retiring, my Econs tutor is leaving us because the Econs department is getting new teacher in...

Of them all, I think the one I'm most iyaan about is my Econs tutor. He's scary and he screams at latecomers in lectures and we live in ph33r, but he's one of the coolest teachers I've ever had. I really, really liked Econs under him. The subject itself is interesting, but the tutorials were the best, and... iyaaan. Wah. All those teachers have been cool, and I hope the new teachers we get are good. Else, bleh.

Tuesday

11:53 AM

On the list of not-fun-things-to-do-first-thing-in-the-morning: Slamming your toe so hard against the edge of the table that it starts bleeding, then putting on socks and track shoes to go to school /directly after/. Ow.

11:51 AM

We dragged Jo-chan out of hell! Well, temporarily, at least. And we got her over to my place, where we, in no particular order, ate pizza, talked about opposable thumbs, and watched the Fifth Element. Which wasn't a great movie. But I really like some of the editting/scene cutting in the show, and the main character's vocal ability.

Also grabbed a copy of Wild Adapter, which is very cool. I mean, guns. And drugs. And Kubota! And guns. And I don't know if it's a sequel or prequel to the series about the disciplinary committee with the insanely long title, or any of what's going on, except, uh, that guns and drugs are involved.

Sunday

8:40 PM

...Uh, ficsite. And /now/ the URL works.

Saturday

7:21 PM

School. Is out.

This means nothing because I have class all through next week anyway, but for the first time in months, I /have no homework due the next day/.

It is SUCH a good feeling.

In other news, went to school for all of an hour this morning, wandered home, played some Shadow Hearts, and took a nap. Mm. Free time. 'course, I've got to study for my Common Tests, but... bleh. Chemistry. Bleh.

Wednesday

9:39 PM

Uh, ficsite. Lazy reused design. All of it actually already up on ff.n, only it struck me as a bit pathetic to only archive 'fic on ff.n. Some of it is embarrassing, some of it is /really/ embarrassing, some of it I like. Eh.

7:43 PM

And to all them people in Perth! Chances are, I'll be flying down sometime in the first week of June (after the 3rd) for a few days. Am trying to drag various T3 members down with me, but them SOME people won't go unless SOMEONE ELSE goes, and SOMEONE ELSE is busy, and I'm not sure if I'll go if SOME people don't go with me. But... yeah.

The terminal teenage girl lemming-brain.

7:18 PM

Sports meet. Bweh. I have a headache.

It was, uh, sports meet-ish as sports meets go. I'd adhered myself to a wall before the thing, as seeing that the wall was non-threatening, quiet, and in a spot that got lots of wind, but I was dragged over to the grandstand anyway. It wasn't as bad as it could have been, I guess, although I spent some part of it sleeping on my friend's lap. Someone brought a huge, blow-up killer whale. I liked the huge killer whale.

One of the cheerleading events involved live birds. Not quite sure I feel about that. They let the birds go, but then I don't know how(probably) captive-bred birds are going to deal.

Monday

4:38 PM

Bah. Today was an Economics disaster of varying proportions, ranging from leaving my TYS at home (easily remedied, a friend in my chinese and gp classes has econs as today's last lesson, right after /my/ last lesson, so i borrowed hers) to forgetting I had an MCQ test (not actually disastrous, except i can never remember which variable is on top in some equations) to DOING THE WRONG FECKING ESSAY QUESTION FOR MY HOMEWORK. >.>;;x I mean, I asked my friends on Friday, they told me one thing. Then this morning, it was another. >.>x Ended up re-doing my essay during lectures and Chinese class. I'm probably going to get crap for it, considering that I did crap for the first part.

It's the last week of (official) school. Wierd. It doesn't /feel/ like the last week of (official) school.

Sunday

7:13 PM

(Although what was kind of funny was her telling me to 'go find that poor guy's clothes quickly'.)

7:12 PM

Do you have any idea how embarrassing it is to be playing a game with your mother ironing clothes and watching, when your character is momentarily butt-naked?

Saturday

12:59 PM

So, uh, watch me suck horribly at MGS2! Also grabbed a copy of Kingdom Hearts. I'm afraid. I'm /very/ afraid.

Thursday

7:04 PM

Alison, that makes it more understandable, but still dangerous and vaguely inconsiderate.

In other news, either Google has started to crash IE, or IE has decided to crash itself everytime it starts up. I don't want to know which.

Wednesday

5:09 PM

To: The culprits, whoever you are
From: Me
Re: Burning of paper money

Look, I respect tradition and mourning for the deceased, but you burn paper money in those bins that HDB provides, or at least on the metal grills that cover drains. You DON'T burn it on the fecking corner of the traffic junction where /pedestrians wait to cross the road/, dumbasses.

Boom shanka,
Me.

In other news, my shoes have taken to rubbing the top of my feet raw, which, in addition to being irritating, is very kind of painful. Ow.

Tuesday

7:46 PM

Oh, and I watched Spiderman. It was pretty cool, I liked it (climbing about all over walls! webslinging! that's pretty cool). Tobey Maguire is kind of a dork, but cute enough. Some of the scenes totally /killed/ me, like the web-summoning scene ('up, up and away!' hee hee /hee/) and the costume in wrestling scene, and some bits were funny for the most utterly wrong reasons. Like upside-down kissing. I mean, doesn't the blood rush to your head?

But yeah. It was cool. A bit nostalgic for the old Spiderman cartoon series now. The good one, not the crappy one.

5:17 PM

And, in other news, I got my Common Test schedule. Somebody kill me now. >.>;x

At least it's /after/ the holidays though, so I have time to intensively rehabilitate my Chemistry, since nothing after the electron shell theory has been parsed. And mass spectrum is kinda iffy, too. Auuugh.

5:12 PM

I passed my 2.4.

Which isn't actually /much/, because anyone can pass their 2.4, except uh, apparently me for the past few years. But I passed. Took me two tries, bleh, but I passed! With a fairly decent timing ot 16.46, which is a D grade and better than anything I'd ever got before.

I am /insanely/ grateful to my classmates, who are a lovely bunch of people and the cause of my having passed. Even if it was by practically dragging me along half the second part of the route. And, uh, yelling at me. I mean, they didn't have to run all over again, but they did, just to help me.

Yeah. Love them.

In other news, I should not have just started playing a new RPG, but I did. I'm bad. Grandia 2, the storyline's not much, but the main character has a smart mouth which amuses me immensely. He's so very insulting. I mean, almost Nicky level insulting, and that's some insulting, alright...

Sunday

8:28 AM

Up! Disgustingly! Early! On! Sunday! With! Homework! To! Do!

College day yesterday. Was. Bleh. Well, okay enough, except the place my stall was set was directly in the sun for a couple of hours, that was quite unpleasant. And I was on my feet for the entire thing, so by the end I kind of just wanted to thud, we learned first-hand that coolers and ice-cream don't mix /that/ well, and we had tonnes of leftover. Oh well. We did okay.

What was pretty funny was, in the beginning when they hung up the posters on a string across our stall, they kept blowing up because of the wind. So my friend decided to donate her Mother's Day gift temporarily to the cause of making the posters stay down.

Three granola bars. Stuck to the bottom of the posters with scotchtape. /Granola bars/. Hanging down lengthwise throughout the entirety of the day. I laughed so hard I couldn't breathe, then after I stopped, I looked at them and started laughing all over again. I should have taken a picture! My dad came by and passed me the tiny digital camera halfway through. But by the time he did, I wasn't laughing at it anymore, so.

Me'n Aine also made a short trip to KareKano. Where they didn't have the rest of Fruits Basket, but they DID have Furuba pins. And Sakura ones. So now I have an angry cat pin and a Kero-Suppi pin! Which made me happy, even though no more Furuba until next month. Bleh. (and even though they spell suppi as 'souppy'. hee hee.)

Thursday

6:36 PM

Meimi- Thanks. ^^;;x Speaking of Ayame, one day, me and Kaori ought to do the Ayame-Shigure cosplay. And take photos. Or videoclips. Because. We do a scary impression of them. I think they can testify to that. Bweheh.

I don't want to talk about my Econs essay test. XO I pretty much predicted the question, and STILL couldn't do it. *sobs*

Wednesday

9:37 PM

Actually, on second thought, it is the MI question from Hell that /can/ be solved. Only, uh, I didn't. Which doesn't make me feel any better. Bleh.

7:04 PM

So I got my Math test back. I passed! By all of two marks. Which is actually not bad, I think. I feel kind of pathetic, though. Should probably have just done the first few steps of the MI question and skipped the rest of it, the reason why I didn't do better was because I ran out of time to /finish/ the test, not to even mention /checking/ my answers (careless mistakes, augh), and I should have realised after the first few minutes that it was the MI QUESTION FROM HELL THAT CANNOT BE SOLVED.

'course, I'm going to have to try now. Got to get my corrections done by today.

You know, Kouri, belatedly, I have a huge personal pet peeve against Yuki/Kyou. Or rather, against Yuki/Kyou the way the Pit of Voles does it. Which probably makes me a raging hypocrite, but oy. And, more Stained Glass Windows! I love you. And Karasu, too.

5:21 PM

This is me.

This is me with a case of PMS the SIZE OF YOUR MOM. Oh well, at least it explains the moodswings this week. And with any hope, they'll go away.

Tuesday

10:01 PM

Easy test, actually. Well, 35 minutes on just proteins and enzymes. Not particularly hard. Except for five marks on haemoglobin of ALL THINGS, and I didn't have ANYTHING to say except for generic crap on primary to quaternary structure, and the lovely footnote tacked on at the end, "oh, and it contains iron". I think we all know how I'm going to fare for this test. Easy or no. Next stop, I am getting my flipping proteins notes, oh yes...

In other news, had dinner in Orchard with Aine, walked around and drooled in the Heeren for a while (angel sanc drama cds AUGH), and didn't do much of anything else. Although I am firmly convinced that someone hates me, because I went to /five/ various manga-selling places, and /none/ of them had Furuba 6 in stock. But I got a copy of 4.

My GP tutor told me to go join the CWC, or what passes as creative writing club here (lit wing, or somesuch), but I don't really do writing to clubs. Not my thing. Too self-conscious. I'll probably just stick with library, shelf-reading fun, yay! The Physics shelves are pretty awful, or at least they were the last time I got sent over to that part to try and make some order of it...

Bell- The company would, of course, be called Dreamscape Investigations Inc. And feature instant analysis. You know, just press five. "The killer was Mrs. Johnson, in the den, with a spatula..."

Checked out a book by Jane Yolen in collaboration with another author, Bruce Coville (?). "Armageddon Summer", it was. Not bad, not earth-shattering (personally liked 'sister light, sister dark' and her dragon series a lot more), but the main characters were quite real and I liked their voices. I think the reason why I didn't like it so much was because the Believers, or at least some of them, irritated the hell out of me, because I couldn't understand why they did what they were doing at all. But some of what I was thinking was echoed by the main characters, and well, cults are cults, and the people who join cults are, uh, the people who join cults, I guess.

I wasn't particularly surprised by anything that happened over the course of the book, but the squirrel scene gave me the chills. An okay read, not particularly long. I finished it between the time I checked out and the time I got home, which is pretty much on the bus towards Orchard, the MRT on the way home, and various bits in between.

Monday

7:46 PM

I hate Biology somebody KILL me.

Or I like Biology, but I didn't study proteins in my last JC, I didn't get to go through proteins here, I have a test tomorrow and for some reason, never photocopied those notes. ARGH.

5:28 PM

This would be me wondering how in flying hell I got sl0red on KKJ... but unfortunately, I know perfectly well.

This /is/ me wondering how I got /sl0red/ on KKJ, considering that every other page makes me slam my head against the book. But in a good way.

Yes, there's a difference between the two.

Sunday

4:56 PM

And, you know, Bell, a PS2 remake of FFT would make me squeal almightily.

4:55 PM

Winamp? Kamui bondage slut skin on For Fruits Basket? You worry me.

6:56 AM

O_______O;;;;;x *whimper* That's just... scary...

Saturday

10:05 PM

The Furuba opening is now firmly lodged in my head.

10:03 PM

Bell- Cliffhanger? What, the murder mystery dream? I have the feeling that the murderer was either me, or a mistress of the guy who died. Not only do I dream in murder mysteries, I dream in murder mystery cliches.

Can't remember much now, it's been an entire day... but I do remember the flashback-that-occurs-as-the-detective-explains-the-modus-operandi! It involved the dead guy being hit on the back of the head by a bottle from behind, while on a ship off the coast of Chek Jawa. Why Chek Jawa? I don't know. And he got dragged over the edge of the ship by means of a rope tied around his head! And at first, cause of death was ruled as suicide, but, uh...

This is probably a cue to stop watching all those Hong Kong police serials on TV. But the only thing I really watch on TV these days is... uh, nothing, and snatches of that HK equivalent of, I don't know, Days of our Lives, or something. A Chinese soap opera that has over a thousand episodes, we're only up to 280-odd, I think.

9:54 PM

And, Bell? Ashton dj by the mangaka of Gravitation?

/Want/.

9:50 PM

Went to Karekano. Drooled at stuff, ended up not actually getting anything, but I /did/ get Fruits Basket DVDs eps 1-13. Which me and Aine watched at my place (multi-region fun, yay!) and ended up howling a lot at. The Fruits Basket anime was... well directed. Very well directed.

It also features some of the worst subbing ever known to mankind. I mean, let us follow the adventures of... 'Chomore Yuihe', 'Chomore Cap', 'Chomore Chemu'...

Kagura was 'Lulu', Akito 'Henyan', Momiji 'Redleaf', and Hatori... 'Pluto'. ... ...

They also constantly referred to Uo-chan and Hana-chan as Fish and Flower. ... Yeah.

But it was good. We're waiting on the rest of the series to be in next week. Ayame. Neheh.

7:05 AM

*b;ink blink* Goodness. I'm dreaming in murder mysteries now.

Except I woke up about the time the detective was explaining how the murder had occured, so I don't know who the murderer was.

Friday

10:38 PM

My house has, after a few years of remarkable pest-freeness (except for the lizards, they're /everywhere/), gained an infestation of ants. The little brown cute kind, and the bigger black ones that I don't like much.

I don't /hate/ ants, but it's kind of annoying to keep having to flick them off your monitor or picking them off your arm and dropping them (when I say infestation, I /mean/ infestation. nrgh) onto the floor. I dont want to kill them or anything, I just want them... not to be here. It makes life easier. And less ticklish.

10:31 PM

I am continually reminded of how much I /really/, /really/ suck at platform games.

7:43 PM

...FFX writers in ff.n, I continue to be disturbed by you.

/Immensely/.

And... Tidus is kind and loving? Well, he's a nice boy, if a bit of a geek, but at a glance, kind-and-loving, I'd attribute to Yuna. I don't want to know about your troubled and disturbed girl who is touched by Tidus's, uh, new treehugging personality, either.

And dammit, no one gets to write Tidus yaoi. /No one/.

5:51 PM

We got to play with chemistry lego yesterday! Only it wasn't lego, it was the kind of kits you made molecular models out of, with the little balls and interlocking sticks. We were supposed to construct a bunch of compounds.

Only, you give lego-like objects to a class full of immature 16-year-olds and expect them to /really/ do work? My crowning achievement was an interlocked, bowl-like structure with legs that were a big lopsided, but hey, it stood up! And could be worn as a hat if you were careful. Couple of friends made a dog, another bench was playing table-soccer with the figures they constructed, and someone else created a molecular depiction of herself.

... ...Well, I never got to play enough with lego as a kid. Most of my toys were hand-me-downs from my sister, so all I ended up with was a small box of scattered legobits. I don't even know if they're still around, I think they've been given away. I /like/ lego. I mean... interlocking parts! But lego sets are expensive, and I don't even know if they actually sell loose pieces. I don't want to recreate the Death Star in tiny plastic choking hazards, I want to... make parts interlock to a pattern of my own. And... Harry Potter lego sets. Have I snarked about Harry Potter lego sets before? Because, if I haven't... *snark*

And today, I made cute little spirals out of my biology practical specimen by carefully carving downwards in a circle. Yes, I really don't have enough amusement in my life, but playing with sharp, shiny lab scalpels and vegetables are fun. I mean... it was a /hollow/ vegetable, that was just begging to be done.

In other news, I have this strange urge to call that new ficbit I kicked up "Frozen Door-to-door Salesmen". Some people will get the reference, some people, uh, won't, I guess.

Wednesday

4:21 PM

Mm, Persona 2. Was I the only person who snickered wildly when first met with Baofu?
