Monday

8:06 PM

Alright, so if you were a part of a group that had to make and sell food products for a fair, and if you had to hand in a business plan/proposal to teachers for approval, information in which would include production cost, amount of product to make, and price of product, and said plan was due tomorrow, would you go out to a supermarket, buy the ingredients, put them in a locker in school for testing tomorrow?

No?

Am so very irritated at the people in that product group. Asked for a price list to be SMSed, not in (although they may have smsed the other person in charge of this). And that is not to mention their hugely extended sulk list when we suggested changing the product, since having only one (/two/ at maximum, and that number isn't even concrete) machine to make the product just isn't enough, since it has to be served fresh. All we did was suggest changing the product to something extemely similar, only it could be prepared, for the most part, beforehand, even uses the same ingredients... why on /earth/ did they get pissed? I mean, /I'm/ pissed, here. >.>x

Talked to very many people from various levels of a couple of ice-cream companies. Since we need it for our product, and all. No particular cigar, may try faxing in requests. I don't really get it. I was in for /publicity/, not product or planning, have no idea why the people in actual charge didn't get the ingredients list and test the product when they had the actual /time/. Given, the time we were, well, /given/ is pretty short, since we only got the requirements last Thursday, but I have /no/ idea why everyone is all of a sudden running around making preparations /now/. Well, I'm making preparations now because I suddenly found myself with the duty today. Like I said, I was in for publicity, not this. And by preparations, I wish I didn't mean 'getting the ingredients and leaving them in a sodding locker in school', but, uh, I'm afraid I do. Geez.

In other news, Kit, want to go to Karekano Saturday to get Masako-Reins-Lin-tachi's stuff?

Saturday

5:01 PM

. . .

Blogger, you bitch, stop eating my messages.

Friday

8:50 PM

Ah, ICQ spam. A free trip to Singapore! Quoth it. I /live/ in Singapore, twits.

Still willing to give, I don't know, things up to and maybe including sexual favours for properly written Ruby Moon/Yue. Only, uh, when I say 'properly written', I mean Ruby Moon/Yue set in our universe. Where it has a chance of happening, at least. And that kind of narrows the field.

...You know, we started off discussing how that pairing would /never/ work...

4:25 PM

Mm, cheese.

The noise that wet track shoes make on a wet track is a very distinct 'shlup'.

The current Math lecturer teaching us is incredibly gay. I sent a message to Aine saying as much, she sent a message saying that 'coincidentally enough, so was hers. Only married with a kid'. Except we'd been talking about Harry Potter 'fic and Harry Potter slash sometime back, so a few wires crossed, and I puzzled for a few moments on "Your Harry's married with a kid?"

Which lead to the Potter/Malfoy household. And their kid. Which would be a poor thing, but is not, because it does not exist. And also, arguments on who the mother would be. "You're shorter." "Yeah, but you're prettier!" "...You think?" "Oh god."

Which, as Aine noted, kind of echoed Aya and Ken's relationship. At least, in that Aya was the taller and prettier of the two. Which lead to "Weasley, Shi ne!" "...Harry, why is your boyfriend telling me to shine?"

...I think the only thing this illustrates is that I should not be allowed to talk with Aine during Math lectures. But hey, it struck me as incredibly funny at the time.

Thursday

8:19 PM

There's an Indian procession going on downstairs. I can't see very much of it being, uh, 18 storeys up and all, but I can see some. The vehicles, and stuff. It's... well, bright. And pretty. And blocking traffic up that street all the way to main road, but hey.

6:55 PM

I'm Ruka/Mikage!

...I guess it might be better if I actually knew who they were. Utena, right?

Whee, off to look for the factors that cause cancer...

Wednesday

9:50 PM

The taps in one of the washrooms of my school give out hot water.

Inexplicably, that delights me.

7:25 PM

Found Saiyuki, it was in the Math room after all. It is, by now, a very abused comic, since I seem to drop it /everywhere/ I go. I was dropping it all over the place yesterday because it wouldn't balance right when I was carrying it on top of my file and uniform (pe, and all), and then I dropped it in the canteen today, and managed to dent the back cover. M'neh.

And... is it me, or does Hakkai seem to get strangled a lot? There's once in book 1, another in book 9, once in the movie... well, okay, that's not that much, but still.

My group's finally decided on a topic for Project Work. Or, well, not finally, because we only just had our first meeting today, but... we're going to be doing something about the importance of appearance to Singaporeans today. And maybe talk to beauty centres and cosmetic companies and things.

Tuesday

5:30 PM

The bus I took home today smelled a bit like gas, for some reason. As in, the type of gas that you cook or fuel bunsen burners with. Which scared the hell out of me, because I am hugely paranoid about things like that, but then it went away after a while.

Left my Saiyuki 9 somewhere in school, and I'm not sure where. Rgh. I think it was in my Math class, but then I'm not sure and I couldn't check after school because there was a class going on there. >.>;x I'll look tomorrow, I guess. I hope it's there. >.>;x

Also saw the most incredibly ugly orange pseudo-sports car while on the way home. /Orange/. With splashes of red up the side. I expect it was supposed to look firey, it came off looking, well, stupid. (and less funny than the other car i saw once, with random stickers of various and opposing car manufacturers. it was like, frankencar. and also ugly. but a /funny/ ugly.) I don't know what some people are thinking, really.

My chemistry tutor likes referring to us in chemical metaphors. You know, excited state, ground state... I think she's compared us to ions, too, a couple of times. It's probably an indication that she should, uh, back of Chemistry and take up something relaxing like knitting, but she's an okay teacher, if wierd. Nice enough. But... still.

And I am going to fail my GP essay test. I ended up writing some tripe about family, I would have done the historical figure, but then there weren't any historical figures I knew enough about to fill an entire essay. (like, 'dammit! kenshin isn't a real historical figure!') Maybe I'll get some marks for sheer PC-ness, or maybe, uh, I won't.

Monday

8:55 PM

My econs tutor likes scaring us by telling us about pass rates and the promotional exams.

And my Chinese teacher didn't come for class today! That was a pretty high point. Which... goes to show that I have a pretty boring life. It might be nice if she didn't come for class tomorrow, either, because I have a minor test. And I am absymally bad at Chinese.

You know, I'm beginning to forget what you look like. >.>x This is a hint. It reads, in plain text, 'let's go out for coffee, dammit'.

And I should stop reading Harry Potter slash. It'll only cause me pain...

Sunday

9:38 PM

And the Saiyuki movie also featured the gayest goddamn villain I've ever seen in my entire life. Just to say.

9:17 PM

Karekano was closed yesterday, which sucked, especially since we walked all the way there, too. And had to walk back. And, uh, looped around Bugis Junction a lot because I wasn't quite sure which side of the building to get out of. For which Reins bonked me with her Saiyuki poster. A lot. Wah.

So we just hung around there for a bit and went back to Bugis to meet Kit and Aine, then went over to Aine's place to watch the Tokyo Babylon OAV and the Saiyuki movie. Vague spoilers for both, here.

The TB OAV was fun, I'd been wanting to watch the second OAV for forever. We ended up switching between the English and Japanese audio tracks every few minutes. Which... ow. ...Owww. 'But SeiSHIrou, I don't know what you're PROMISING me!' But it was kind of funny. And Seishirou sounded kind of like a cowboy, yes, but also like one of those entirely too cheerful adults you see leading the little kiddies around on, you know, children's programmes.

But... cowboy. 'Soo-baroo! *whipcrack!* Down, boy!' And the psycho murderer's English voice. Oh, gay. Gay gay gay gay gay. Manages to be gay even through "Hey girlie. Wanna have some fun?", although I'm not sure where the translators got that from "You're in my seat". But... gay. And Sei-chan to the rescue! "Ya see, ah promised him a destiny!" Bweehee. Although I'm wondering at Subaru the perennial victim, in both OAVs, towards the end.

The Saiyuki movie... bad animation, worse subbing, and for some reason, I absolutely loved it. I love Hakkai. Even evil!Hakkai. And 'what-the-hell-are-you-saying'!Hakkai. Although that was kind of funny. Psychopathic pervert with a penchant for crossdressing. Hee hee. Me and Aine bweed a bit at the Gojou shower stab scene, and then at the later Hakkai Gojou stab scene, because we both quite had the impression that they were the same scene. And all of us were pretty confused at the beginning, where we couldn't figure out who was real and who was fake.

And... Kougaiji-tachi. /Poor/, /poor/ Kougaiji-tachi. Who didn't deserve what they got, which was, in fact, stuck in a 'gitgai' (/kekkai/, /kekkai/, do you not comprehend?), then later a forest, then accosted by a bunch of paper place shikigami... and then overlooking the Sanzou-tachi from a cliff and 'Should we go say 'hi'?' 'Nah, let's just go home.' So they didn't actually have any sort of useful role to play in the movie, they were just... there. And they got the good ending shot, as opposed to the Sanzou-tachi, who fell into a ravine.

I want a Jeep. And a Hakkai. And I really want to make a shrine to Jeep now! Although sometimes I wonder why Jeep bothers flapping around in the face of enemies, wouldn't flying up and then turning into the, well, jeep, end the fight a lot more efficiently?

Friday

11:04 PM

Went and had dinner with Kit and Masako-Reins-Lin-tachi. Partially terrorized KFC. Ayamed and Shigured with Kaori at various moments.

That was fun! But I am now very tired. And I shall sleep soon. Karekano tomorrow, bwee!

Wednesday

7:08 PM

Canoeing carnival. Grgh. Hot. Hot. Very hot. That irritating 'it's about to rain' sort of stifling heat, and it didn't rain for long enough to make much of a difference. Although it was pretty cold rain.

I didn't pay much attention to the goings on (going ons?) around, just pretty much... sat about and read Aine's copy of Serpent's Shadow. Which I quite liked, only the main villain failed to capture my interest in any way. I mean, 'die evil sister-spawned ho, yey'. And the romance seemed pretty sudden. I kind of turned the page, and... it was there! Well, heavy "ooh, intriguing lady! ooh, handsome guy!" foreshadowing in the beginning, but...

You know, I find that while I quite like Lackey's heroes, who can be generally cool, her villains are just usually... pretty boring. Like she feels as though it's a requirement to beat her readers over the head with the "LOOK! HE'S EVIL!" stick. Like Rod the nasty wife-beater! Or Hadenelith (?) the insane giggling BDSM torture psychopath. Who could have been a cool villain. I kind of liked Ma'ar, but... Falconsbane was blah.

Still, pretty much the only thing happening at the carnival was... the people around me screaming too much, and food. Much food happened. That was quite interesting. Then later me and a couple of other people took a walk to the restaurant place next to where we were, which was... interesting enough. There's a theme restaurant there. And a seafood restaurant called "No Signboard Seafood Restaurant", or something. I find that inexplicably cool. I mean, it's a... restaurant with no signboard, and it's called... "No Signboard Seafood". That's like, either really clever, or really dumb.

And I managed to call my dad and ask him to pick me up, so I didn't have to try find a way home myself, and got fast food in the bargain! Mm, fast food. Only I think I ruined my dinner.

...And Masako and Reins are in Singapore now! Yay! Can't wait to meet up with you guys. Although uh, I confess to not being quite sure who it was I was speaking to on the phone earlier. ^^;;x

Monday

9:47 PM

...Okay. Dammit. This is funny. Spoilers for Saiyuki 9, and not comprehensible without having read it, but... funny.

Because... dammit.

INSPIRATIONAL MAHJONG.

And... this is funny, too. If only for ">E HERE IS YOUR FUCKING COFFEE gozaimasu! :D". Which is the best description of Hakkai's volume 8 coffee-slam. Ever.

7:46 PM

Alexandra? Any chance of my set back soon? There are a huge bunch of games I want to take a look at when I have the time now. Like Kingdom Hearts, I saw it in the store. Bweeheehee.

7:43 PM

And watch me studiously avoid doing my Chinese homework? God, I am going to flunk out of this class, and I'm /already/ in the lowest denomination of Chinese class, or so I think. Although arranging people by their grade in the language subjects does make sense. Well, kind of. In a, 'I would die if surrounded by all those people in my class who are so good in Chinese in my Chinese class' sort of way.

Went through school. Thudded after school, then went to Bugis Junction with Aine where I ate a crepe and got a Gravi drama CD. (game tokyo's closing? /noooooooooooooo/) Should have got the AS CDs while, you know, the chance was still there, but they're gone now. Ditto for the Saiyuki ones. Considering that I don't understand Japanese, I have no idea why I am such a drama CD h0.

Search engine hits!

sex sex sex secx ...Like, cosine hentai, you know? Only... not.

"Star Ocean" hentai tentacle - /... ... .../ ...Dude. What the hell?

FFX rikku porn ...Uh, no. No one is allowed to write Rikku porn. Especially not RIKKU PORN INVOLVING AURON, dammit. /Why Aurikku/? But that's a rant for another day.

cain fanfic yuki kaori - And I don't think anyone is allowed to write Cain fanfic, either. Unless... no.

As for more student council speeches, /rarr kill/. I don't get it. How is singing your election speech to the tune of a half-decade old song and guitar expected to increase your vote count? I buried my face and tried to pretend it wasn't happening. And when I asked how treating the entire shebang as a talentine fest was expected to help them, the offender said it... allowed people to remember him better.

Yeah. Remember you better so I can FIND YOU IN THE FUTURE AND CHEW YOUR FACE OFF, you music butchering waste of time. >.>;x

Sunday

6:19 PM

Poing.

Saturday

7:15 PM

My Chinese diary for the week, summarized: I slacked a lot more in Nanyang. I get lost a lot here. I can almost match names to faces, now! My sister, who came back sometime a week ago, kept waking me the hell up in the middle of the night. I like her, but I'm sort of happy she's gone, because now I can sleep.

...I am so pathetic.

6:24 PM

OwwwwWWWwwwww writing three pages of essay and various other stuff involving the use of pens owwwWWWWwwwww.

I think this means I should stop pressing down so hard when I write. /Ow/.

Friday

9:10 PM

But what sucks is due to shortsightedness and forgetting that AIM doesn't automatically log (...or does it? either way, i can't find any) conversations, I lost the conversation with nome about sentient bubble gay porn and bishounen sentient bubbles.

9:08 PM

We have /more/ student council nominee speeches to look forward to next week. Only went through /half/ this week, in fact. Grah. The short SMS conversation with Aine withstanding, most of them were just kind of dumb. I mean, guy with an American flag tophat. "I can play the harmonica! Vote for me!" Bwah?

And very bad analogies. Like the one with the balloon and the pin. Which /almost/ measures up to the one with the atheists and the bubbles in the sea, but not quite. Because that was the Worst Analogy Ever. Except for maybe Barret's 'Golden Shiny Wire Of Hope' analogy. Which was, anyway, no matter how bad it was, funnier.

For a novel change, I think I'll sleep early tonight.

And when I wake up by reflex in the morning, sit up, and see that it's still dark out or that the sun's just coming up, /I will roll over and go right back to sleep/.

8:59 PM

Somewhy should be a word. Just randomly observing.

Brought God Child 2 to school and left it on my table during Chinese class, where it was f4ng1r|3d over by one of the people from that class. Who read Angel Sanc. (or was, well, a failed angel sanc fan. who has a healthy amount of appreciation for yuki kaori, anyway) And who plays video games. Video Playstation role-playing games. And after Chinese, we walked out of school, f4ng1r|1ng over Xenogears, Xenosaga, FFX, and stuff.

Meeting new acquiantances with like hobbies through the slow process of osmosis and... uh, bait. Fun! This makes two.

Econs is EATING ME ALIVE. So is Chemistry, in fact. Math is, oddly enough, not. Considering that in Secondary school, I had final grades for Math ranging in the 20s, and that most of my Sec. 4 life was an extended crash course in both my Maths...

But Econs. I have an essay due on Monday, along with another two essay outlines. I wouldn't have the slightest clue how to begin writing an Econs essay, study skills lectures or no. Mrgh. And my Chinese teacher wants us to do weekly diaries. I haven't kept a diary since... ...I've /never/ kept a diary. And even if I had, I wouldn't even consider doing it in Chinese.

One of the very few things I miss about my previous school is my Chinese teacher. Who was kind of blur and talked a lot of crap and was tall enough that he had to duck to get into the container classrooms, but Chinese class was fun. Even though, uh, no one did any of the assigned work. Which was, I think, part of why it was fun. You know. Going there and talking crap with the teacher and skipping class with impunity (i think a record was 6 people going for class, although we always joked about the only people showing up being the two rare studious guys in my class who /never/ skipped any lessons. /ever/. which is like, almost an alien concept).

Oh, Aine? Return TB 5 and pass me which of the Hanakimi volumes 11-14 that you have?

Thursday

7:40 PM

"Something happened to Yukito...HE HAS TURNED INTO A GIRL!!! Does this have anything to do with what he feels for Touya? R&R ONEGAI!!!"

/... ... .../

7:11 PM

An X crossover with Fruits Basket.

With Kamui's dad as a cursed Souma.

/Why/ do I see Yuzuriha hugging Kamui, followed quickly by a sudden poof?

Owwwww. In other news, I have managed to very minorly injure myself in several odd ways today. Well, one was a papercut, which isn't odd, just itchy and annoying. I managed to gouge a short scrape into my thumb with the plastic cap of a Pokka peach tea bottle, though. Still not quite sure how that one happened.

Public service announcement, Star Ocean 6 and Saiyuki 9 are out in Chinese, and Kino's stocking God Child 2 in Japanese. Which is pretty, pretty pretty pretty. Except I can't, you know, understand it, not that I've taken the time to read it in detail. But the pictures are pretty. Mmm.

Star Ocean's art is deteriorating a little, the screentoning is a bit rough and the entire thing isn't as polished as the first few books... but hey, Dias! And Ashton. And the story's heating up and getting /really/ interesting, it's actually hitting something close to a plot, now! I only flipped, though, since it was Aine's copy I was looking at.

Saiyuki 9 is good, made me dig up my series to read it from the beginning. (which is wierd, because i didn't particularly like saiyuki 8. but 9 was an interesting conclusion) And I've been re-reading Tokyo Babylon on the side. I'd really nearly forgotten just how much I adored TB Subaru...

During the last twenty minutes of my econs turorial today, we were talking about embalming and coffins and dead people, for some reason. My tutor's scary. He's /loud/. But kind of cool, and hey, embalming!

Wednesday

8:49 PM

And did I ever mention the dream I had, where Sanzo of Saiyuki was a cranky old woman with Wakka's hairdo?

...It made sense at the time. Subconscious? Have a cookie.

Tuesday

6:04 PM

Went and watched Alegria, the performance by Cirque du Soleil, on Sunday. I liked it, it was cool, and the music was gorgeous. I think I liked the people with the feathers best. Not the contortionists, they were just kind of freaky and skinny, but the people with the peacock-coloured feather things who didn't actually have a performance of their own...

Also got a new watch. It's /shiny/. And a pretty shade of dull rose. I liked my old watch, but it was /really/ old, and canvas frays. But metal, uh, corrodes, I guess.

The lecture theatres in this place leak when it rains. New lecture theatres, no less. Hn.

Saturday

8:40 PM

Family party. Too many adults making conversation downstairs to hear myself think, and the children have invaded the top floor /making dog noises/.

So it's... downstairs, with the food and drink, or upstairs... with the no longer quiet. But the computer! Which will assuredly get fooled with if I leave.

... ...

And I was just asked to check on the pizza we ordered. Right. Going downstairs. At least the adults don't bark.

6:26 PM

Me: ... ... ...Do you want to know why oil floats on top of water?
Aine: You want to know why oil floats on water? *leans forward, very slowly* Because the sodding wankers don't mix.

(in retaliation to aine spouting physics crap at me, only it didn't work.)

5:31 PM

...

I got a haircut.

My hair is now, you know, like, /short/.

Meep.

12:11 PM

I hate being a second intake student. XO I have no notes and no idea of where anything is, and I don't know anyone around. *sulk* I also hate being a second intake student taking Econs for the first time, I have this feeling that it's going to chew me up and spit me out.

And either I'm getting selectively dyslexic or severely careless in my own way, because I don't believe I managed to consistently read 2.0 as 0.2. Rarrr.

Wednesday

5:39 PM

The bus broke down as I was on the way to J8 today, there was a concert put up for International Friendship Day which involved a skit about a lady who got married to a dog and was later wooed by her son, and Chemistry is kicking my ass. Grah.

On another note, though, I managed to freak out one of my new classmates by talking to myself. During Biology tutorial earlier, when I was looking for my notes on saccharides, but couldn't find them, I was going, announcer style, "We've secretly removed Meia's Biology notes from her file. Let's see if she notices." And she heard, and turned around and asked me if I was talking to myself. In a, you know, "Don't do that, it scares me" tone of voice.

...But I /did/ find my notes in the end.

Tuesday

10:18 PM

One of the lights in the overhead lighting of this room is giving out. Flicking on and off. It's kind of creepy, but the room is appealingly dim when it's off, I just wish it'd... make up its mind. The flickering is /really/ creepy.

I got my time-table and class. Combination I want, yay, but my time-table's awful, argh.

Monday

9:09 PM

*blink, blink* Aaand... hee, they did the same thing as we did.

8:48 PM

I... I have no words.

Except when the thing was halfway loading, I saw "floral themed assassins", and immediately thought... "Weiss?"

The look on Subaru's face, though, is priceless. Pfaha.

7:24 PM

Bahahahaha! Love the layout, Meimi-san. XD

7:15 PM

I'm Death!
Which Member of the Endless Are You?

(gacked off lilack)

Cool. Death's a nifty chick. I've been reading the Lucifer spin-off that Jo-chan lent me, and I actually really like it. That's one cool ex-lord of Hell right there, and Mazikeen just rocks me. I mean, half-rotting face and all. The mask is cool, although I have to sound most of her dialogue out to get what she's saying...

I think it's an unfinished series, and I'm interested in getting any other tpbs that are out. And it occurs to me that I actually have the spare cash to do so! Which is kind of cool. Except I'm not sure if I will, because they're big in the expensive way. I'm missing lots of Sandman in my collection, too... I only have four or five, I think. Read some at the bookstore, but it was a while ago and it's not really the same...

I also kind of want to read Preacher. Flipped through the first volume, seems interesting... eh.
