Monday

10:47 PM

And it just hit me that /tomorrow/ is New Year's.

Oh, fuck.

10:43 PM

And FFX is starting to /finally/ feel like at RPG, or at least, like an FF. I've got my airship! There is /still/ no overworld, though. Bad Square. But I have an airship! Which teleports me immediately to places I want to go, an energy-conserving exercise, but still no substitute for an overworld. What's an RPG without an overworld, after all?

But at least I have airship. And I can run around doing all those stupid little quests and searches and ultimate weapon-finding and stuff that defines that brief calm before the storm right before entering the final stages of the game. Almost forgiven. Except you're supposed to be able to at least do /some/ side-quests /during/ the course of the game, yo. I clocked in almost ten hours today running around for all the random crap that the airship allows me to partake in.

(Two hours of it was racing chocobos, though. Yay, chocobos! I don't believe they wanted you to get a 0: 0.0 time in the race in order to get Tidus' ultimate weapon's powerup. I mean, dude.)

9:34 AM

In other news, I gave up halfway on Mists of Avalon, because Gwenhwyfare (or /however/ her name is spelled) was being so horribly irritating, and the story was focusing on her at that point. Gah. So I gave it back to Aine, it was due, anyway.

9:26 AM

And, er, I got my glasses fixed. Both of them. Yeah.

9:03 AM

Watched LotR yesterday. Frodo's pretty, oh yes. Legolas is pretty, oh /yes/. Aragorn is cute in that biseinen sort of way. Mmm. Wish that they'd given Legolas more of a part than pitty arrow-shooting paperweight, though. I've only read a little of Fellowship of the Ring, so I can't say how it matches up, but I enjoyed it very very much, nyo.

Then I and Kaori went for tea with Kit, and Aine was very very late, and I grabbed a copy of Asuka February because the most adorable Dai-chan holding a chibi-Dark and sweatdropping Satoshi was on the cover. No X chapter, but X is just kinda boring and sucky now, and I'm not looking forward to Sorata and Arashi dying. (they were the first to get some. you /know/ they're going to die. damn you, clamp.)

The DNAngel chapter /almost/ makes up for Yukiru-sensei's two months of absence, because we get a colour picture of Dai-chan looking awfully... comatose... on a white background. It's pretty. No, really. And we also get a colour picture of Dai-chan being cute, along with Dark being cute, which is sort of scary. And we get PREPARATIONS for the PLAY, nyo. In WHICH, Satoshi gets forced to dress up as Dark, due to Saga Keiji's bright idea, and in WHICH Dark in Dai-chan's body gets to look horribly uncomfortable in a dress, and Riku remarks that he looks cuter than she does, and in WHICH Satoshi and Dark snipe at each other politely in front of the entire class. And not to mention the rehearsal for the play, which is a funny entirely of its own category.

Had something bad for lunch and threw up in the bathroom after. I'm quite sure it was lunch. The food was awful, anyway, and I was queasy most of the day, throwing up made me feel better, though I was really tired after that and had to stagger home. (never go to that miniature hawker center up the way from bishan ntuc, i tell you. awful. the food was cold, and i /mean/ cold, not even room temperature. the curry was the only mildly edible thing there, but i threw it all up, so i expect it didn't agree with me, either. never going back there again.)

My mother made me take an entire vial of some small round pills for my stomach. They tasted funny. Chinese medicine, I think, they had that sort of bittery astringent smell to them.

Sunday

12:04 AM

Computer? Your cacheing shit ain't funny, yo. I don't believe I chopped off the 'index.html' to bell's blog and loaded an /entire page of fresh entries dating back to last Sunday/.

But, er, it's good to see that it was just my computer and not bell. Dumb computer.

Saturday

11:27 PM

Kit? Bishan and some other cinemas are showing Spirited Away in the original Japanese, subtitled in Chinese and English... that's what I watched. The Japanese voices are nice. I like Haku, oh /yes/... *nyo*

See you tomorrow!

9:39 PM

I don't believe this! I broke my glasses AGAIN!

By dropping them. Again. This is my spare, it's the last pair I got. Grah. I'm still wearing it, the left lense is cracked quite neatly in half and it doesn't interfere /that/ much. Although it's sort of irritating. Argh.

In other news, I got a new notebook. 'cos this one only has two fully blank pages left.

10:28 AM

Sooooomebody, go out and watch LotR with me, before I cryyyyyyy.

Aine dumped a bag full of books on me the other day, and I'm making my slow way through them. I'm reading Obsidian Butterfly now, because I like Anita Blake, even if she's a huge Mary Sue. Everyone just keeps wanting to have sex with her, while she kills lots of people and solves preternatural gory mysteries! While raising zombies on the side. I love Anita Blake. The books are a good read, anyway.

Then I have to finish The Mists of Avalon, which has the wierdest pacing that I've ever seen in any book. It /seems/ to go really, really slowly, yet I'm halfway through, and the people who were only oh, maybe 20 odd in the beginning of the book, are dying of old age now. But nothing actually seems to have /happened/. It's very odd.

She passed me the Laurell K. Hamilton sex book, too. A Kiss of Shadows, I think the name was? Jo-chan got it sometime back, and Aine read it over at her place and said it was mostly porn, and since half out of the random pages I flipped to contained a sex scene, I believed her. The Mary Sue seems to be the only kind of main character that Hamilton can write, but for some reason, she's forgiven. Well, mostly forgiven.

Friday

10:17 PM

Oh, and Leareth and Tsukineko, belatedly, thanks for the e-cards! ^__^x

10:16 PM

But in other news, I did get that boss in the end, and then me and Jo-chan went out and ate pasta at someplace in Serangoon Gardens this afternoon, it was a late lunch and I'm still full. Mm, lasagna. With lots and lots of cheese. Mmm, cheese.

And then, me and Jo-chan caught the 6pm show of Spirited Away. Yes, again. Yeah, straight to hell, I know. I still want a little Haku and hamster-rat-thing and sootball. So terribly cute.

I still laughed at the shoujo sparkly romantic scene in the sky. Freefall through a height of several thousand metres above ground level should not be accompanied by little invisible hearts, dammit.

I might beat FFX soon, and I've only clocked 30 hours into the game? Unless there's a new twist that I don't see coming. There have been no sidequests or anything special yet, I don't even have an airship! Dude! I haven't seen an overworld in 30 hours! Talk about linearity.

But I want a little Tidus. And Auron. But it'd have to be a big Auron, because a chibi Auron would just be scary and not cute. A chibi Lulu would be scary /and/ cute, though.

10:12 PM

I got a call from someone who's going to be leading my orientation group when I go to JC.

That pretty much hammered it in that I am going to a new school with no one that I know (well, actually, someone from my primary school will be in my orientation group. but i haven't seen her for more than two hours in four years, put together, and i wasn't great friends with her in primary school, anyway. but i guess it's still a familiar face) in a campus that I'll get lost in for half a year afterward (i got lost in rgs lots, when i was in sec. 2, i still didn't concretely know the location of the kitchens that we use for home ec. in fact, i think a lot of us asked each other where we were supposed to go, on the way to class. and i think jcs have bigger campuses?) without minna-chan-tachi to crash the class of every recess and hog computers with.

I'm scared. I don't want to go.

10:57 AM

Four times.

*sulk*

9:52 AM

FFX? I /appreciate/ you not being easy enough to beat the pants off. NOW LET ME KILL THE DAMN BOSS ALREADY, having to go through the same superlong conversation three times is not fun.

Good thing is that you don't have to press anything to make things move on, so I just come back to the computer and fool around while waiting.

Alexandra-neechama, s'an original copy I got, so I can't say where you might find it... but then when I'm done with the game, feel free to borrow it, if it's not available yet. ^___^x

If you know where I might find a /Japanese/ copy of the game, though... (Tidus's Japanese voice-actor. Mmmmm.)

I'm just a seiyuu h0. This happened to me with Tales of Eternia, too.

Thursday

11:12 PM

And voting for the TB/X fanfic awards is open, it might be nice to be voted for? ^^;x

Surreality's up in 'one-shot', and Twisted's in 'angst/drama'. Looking it over again, Surreality's clumsy, but I'm kind of fond of it. Twisted... just sucks ass, especially the latest chapter, and is probably going to be discontinued, /so/. Too much S&S out there already, anyway, I don't want to add anything to the top of the pile anymore.

...But it might still be nice to be voted for? ^^;x

I should get around to uploading the SO2 manga translations that I went over and reworked so they're not so horrible and stilted and inaccurate, although elements of that still exist. I didn't change /that/ much, but some bits were /really/ horribly inaccurate before, especially parts of the Xine speech.

Hmm. I'll just go upload them now. Too lazy to change the updates page, though.

The main site is going to the dogs. I should just close it. No one wants the original crap, it dates back to when I first started writing, which... says a lot. And my 'fic is all up on Disembodiment anyway, which I... should update. But not now.

I still think the quotes are funny, though. But I haven't been collecting new quotes in forever, even though I should. I haven't been updating in forever, even though I should.

...I'm going to hell, aren't I? A quote for you, anyway.

<Meia> But as Alison of DoS said... "How about a Kamui/Subaru lemon where they exchange... THE EYEBALL?"
* Dragonfly drinks the eyeball
* Dragonfly then has sex with Kamui
* Meia writes a fanfic about Diffness having sex with Kamui
<Meia> Where they exchange... THE EYE.

10:59 PM

Schis: It means that I think Auron is one of the coolest characters in FFX and that I want to have sex with him. And I like your new layout! Except I haven't watched LotR yet, so I can't see the prettyness that is elf-boy. Damn.

Blogger? No one thinks you're funny. Stoppit.

Me and Aine went to watch Spirited Away just now. It was quite fun, and I liked it lots, and if I can find a VCD, I'd get it. I want a Haku, even though he's the scary twin brother of Touya Akira, seperated at birth. I swear. And I want a little fuzzy sootball thing, too. They're so cute. *niko* The only thing about the movie was the lack of closure. I mean, I forgive it for getting wierd towards the end, because I think that's a traditional Studio Ghibli thing. But there wasn't any closure at /all/! Not one bit! But it's still good. Even though I... have no sense of traditional romantism anymore, and was giggling to myself all through the Hugely Romantic Shoujo Sparkly Scene In The Sky.

I was snickering madly at the Hugely Romantic Shoujo Sparkly Scene In The Lake in FFX, too. Just... gwah. I mean... gwah.

And FFX gets points (or not) for being an FF that I actually /die/ in from boss battles and even /normal/ ones. Or maybe I'm just pathetic. I find myself really, really liking being able to change my fighting party in the battle itself, though.

Wednesday

7:55 PM

And you know, them FFX people take 'breathing' as a mere suggestion, don't they? /My/ lungs ache in sympathy, watching them...

Tuesday

11:34 AM

Merry Christmas!

Monday

11:37 PM

Oh, /Auron/.

And that's all I have to say.

No, actually, it's not. And my stupid memory card decided to short out on this morning's game AND FFX, prompting me to have to run to the mall to get another mem card to be able to actually /save/ games. Yeah, I had to run. Shops close at oh, 9.30 or so... when I decided I needed a card, it was 9.05 and I wasn't changed or anything. >.>;x Dumb thing. But I managed to get one, so all's happy. And I can play the other game I started on, too, and while the animation's /really/ funny looking in it, it's an RPG-type thing, it's an interesting premise, and the music is by /Yasunori Mitsuda/. Ee.

Now, Meia's spoiler-free FFX 2-hour opinion!

FFX has succeeded in confusing me very very much in only 2 hours of gameplay! Not many games can boast of that. But the voice acting is at least... maybe not awesome, but I like it. I'm not much enamoured with Tidus's voice. It's sort of got a whiny edge to it sometimes, but when it doesn't, it's pleasant. Wakka's voice is quite perfect for his character, and LULU. I /adore/ that lady's voice and her everything, she's terribly cool. Yuna and Rikku so far are... eh, not remarkable, but not bad. And, of course, /Auron/. Oh, /Auron/. And that is all.

As a character, though, I kind of like Tidus. He's a little whiny, yeah, but that's sort of to be expected. It's like the whole Shinji deal, he's just a pretty normal kid (albeit being a sports star. since when was sword training part of general sports stardom? if i get on with things, will they Be Explained?) thrown into, well, circumstances, and handling it pretty well. And he's cute! Except he hasn't seemed to have grown out of baby fat yet. But I like him. And I like Wakka, and oh, /Auron/. And Lulu. Auron is terribly cool, I want more of him.

Although I have to ask. Rikku's initial gear. Those aren't /clothes/ she's wearing, are they? Damn, that must chafe. O.o;x

I had to trade in my copy of DMC for that though, and man did it cost me. And I need another mem card, this one doesn't work with all the games I have.

But eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

12:07 PM

Oh god, turning on the TV and walking in the streets are bad enough and at least they're on-tune, I don't need my neighbours playing Christmas carols /very/ badly on the piano. Argh.

But, er, happy Christmas eve, everybody.

11:59 AM

*poings* Swaaaag just came! 10 nifty black CDs of anime and music and stuff and Furi Kuri and Fruits Basket and Star Ocean all the way to 16, wonder if there'll be Dias in there, swaaaaag! Liz? I love you. *niko* (Your present's likely to be late. Very very late. Very very very late? Meep.)

And I have Pocky! The nifty type in the box with little individual packets. And there are two types of cherries in the fridge, and strawberries, and I'm contemplating strawberries with maple syrup. Life is good.

It would be better if lunch was in existence, though. I'm alone at home right now. Are we going out later or not, dah-lings?

Saturday

9:51 PM

Another bug of the sort I lost to the other day just buzzed merrily onto my table and landed on the tissue box. I very gently slammed today's New Paper on it. It's probably alive, I just... don't want to lift the paper up.

I hate beetles. They're probably one of the more harmless insects as they go, but gah. I have this paranoia that they're going to lay eggs in my nose and eat my eyeballs or something. Or lay eggs in my eye and let their offspring eat my eyeballs. Actually, I don't really have that paranoia, because they could only do that while I was asleep and when I'm asleep my eyes are closed, I doubt I'd let them eat or lay eggs in my eyeball while I was awake. But I guess they could still lay eggs in my nose. Which would be a pretty bad place to lay eggs, actually, because I suffer mild sinus problems and have to blow my nose like buggery every morning when I wake up.

Who said fear had to be rational?

It's cold. The perfect type of weather to snuggle with my pillows. I like all my pillows, even though there's one that's been sticking around since kindergarten, and my bolster's got a rip in it, so every so often I'll wake up with dirty bolster stuffing on my bed, especially if I haven't tied the two ends off properly. It took me a while to figure out where all the sponge and fluff bits were coming from, and I learned more than I wanted to about the insides of my bolster in the process, that period of time.

And that would be the sound of me hurriedly vacating the room because the bug wriggled free of the newspaper I put on top of it and started flying around. And /that/ would be the sound of me cautiously creeping back to my chair after inspecting the surroundings very carefully.

I hate me, and I should stop talking about eyeballs, really. (Your layout is really freaky, by the way. Have I said?)

I wonder where the hell they're all coming from. The beetles, not my eyeball talk. They aren't /that/ common around my place, and this would be the second in less than a week or so, unless it's the same one, which is also possible. I lost track of it the other day.

7:03 PM

ff.n? When the hell did you decide that orange would be an ideal default colour?

The world's conspiring to make me rip my eyeballs out, isn't it?

But in other news, the Count Cain and Angel Sanc drama CDs that we ordered have come in. Awright. XD

'course, the problem now is that my discman is crap and I can't use either it or my mp3man, because I lost my earphones, and I use the same set of earphones for both. Screeeewed.

3:33 PM

I went for a Christmas function at an old folk's home with my father, where many people sang Christmas carols that I knew not the lyrics and tune for, because I only go as far as Jingle Bells and Deck the Halls; Silent Night is already a bit of a stretch. I don't particularly like Christmas carols because the popular ones are bright and catchy and /overplayed/ and verses run around and around in my head and I'm reduced to mentally humming bars of The Best is Yet to Come to get them out, and even that doesn't always work. That goes for irritating commercial jangles, too.

In the sort of mood usually accompanied by outpourings of angst or maybe teenage poetry, but I'm not very good at angst and I've sworn off poetry, so.

I love my family. No, really. My dad drives me crazy, but well. I don't know. I still love them.

My sister wants to get a used sports car in Australia, her request is being seriously contemplated. I think it's dumb, because you can't even put four people in a sports car, can you? (One in the passenger-side foot rest, one in the boot...)

8:54 AM

That thought had crossed my mind, but then I don't think we have lemon-scented dishwash. Anyway, the drink's been drunk, I'm still alive, all's good...

We got our hands on the Ashton episodes yesterday. I have... absolutely nothing to say about them. Well, actually, I have lots of things to say about them, not the least of being "I don't know who you've got there, but that ain't my Ashton, yo." It would have been much better if they'd followed the manga's pacing (Instead of dragging out the King's Tear quest all the way up to three episodes after you first meet him. I mean, maybe you can't fit it all into one ep, you can even have the BadlyAnimatedBugfightScene if you want, but then putting the Opera chapter right in the middle is just... bad pacing.) and kept Ashton's basic personality. >.>;;x As it were, Ashton suffers too much from being designated comic relief of the party, and while it /is/ so in the manga, he's really not that shallow, you know.

And Xine looked like a giant chicken. I cannot respect anything that looks like a giant chicken. The fight scene wasn't done very well, too. >.>;;x Although Ashton possessed is one of the most cool things on this side of the universe, especially his voice, for which Seki Tomokazu deserves many, many blowjobs. And the music's very nice and I like it lots and I might contemplate the soundtrack sometime, if I have ANY spare cash whatsoever which I don't, these days, but whoever added it to be BGM of some scenes should be shot. Fight scenes should utilize upbeat FIGHT SCENE music, and not sad orchestral someone's-going-to-die music. Why are there so many someone's-going-to-die music tracks in this anime, anyway? It's supposed to be campy fun.

These were just the most glaring things. If Ashton's going to be a main character in the party, give him his personality back. XO

Friday

10:19 PM

Yahoo!Groups?

...Please give me my flipping messages from the website /directly/?

Because or else I will cry and EAT YOUR EYEBALLS?

Thank you.

10:17 PM

Was surfing around online comic things this morning, and stumbled upon this quite pretty and interesting one. Except it's got really few pages up now, so I can't say anything. But at least it /is/ pretty, and I'm highly fascinated by the chain's on the main character's usual wear. *niko* It's not that new a concept, but I like incubi and I like Jrockers, and the art's good. I'll be keeping an eye for more pages, probably. Fun.

Got a some more volumes of Inuyasha from Jo-chan, too. At least it'll keep me occupied for a while. But now, I'm going to read Strings of Fate while I wait for the water to heat up so's I can wash my hair. Dunking it in rain water more or less all day is not pleasant, not pleasant at all...

10:12 PM

And due to Jo-chan and rain and all that circumstance stuff, we were supposed to meet at /9/, while I ended up meeting Aine and Kaori at /12/ and Jo-chan came with us at /4/. That's 4pm, people, /seven/ hours after the original agreement. ... She wants me to wake her up at 8 tomorrow, dearlordhelpusall. *niko*

We didn't do that much cycling, but then the roads were all wet and awful (I bladed down to J8 in the rain. Slippery. Wet. Cold. Ucky.) and Kaori had some trouble with the bikes, and ended up on a tandem bike with Jo-chan. Then we went up to the beach and made a kekkai in the sand that I stepped on. Wandering around sand on rollerblades is a very interesting experience, but I was in long jeans and I didn't want to take my blades off, since they're a huge pain in the ass to put on and carry around. >.>;x Then we sat at Coffee Bean, made Kaori awfully late (Eee.) and wandered back to Aine's house.

What was fun was that we were contemplating D&D-style RPing on the way back to Aine's place, so when we were done with dinner, we just started appropriating up a world and quite a simple dice system (we didn't even have dice) and we created a couple of characters. Jo-chan GMed. *niko* I got pretty good rolls on my shaman, Aine-chan got crappyish rolls but then her God loves her so it doesn't matter anyway. It really was fun, even the bit where she set /fire/ to my /tree/. >.>x But then my dad came to pick me up about the time I was chewing her out for setting /fire/ to my /tree/, so we had to stop there. Fun, fun.

Psst, my dad says we can't rent rooms for one night, it has to be nights in blocks of three. So I don't know, what shall we do? Kaori-chan, you still calling?

Thursday

4:38 PM

The plain water in this house, for some reason, tastes vaguely of lemons.

That probably wouldn't be much cause to feel uneasy, but it's not even /real/ lemons it tastes like, it's like those lemony fresh clothing wash and stuff.

I'm still drinking it anyway, though.

Then again, it could just be real lemon. I know that there's half of one in the fridge, covered in plastic wrap.

3:49 PM

I j ust watched X 9.

Mmmm, pretty. Very soft and quiet and surreal, the bits with Subaru in them, just like they should be. And the onmyoujitsu was all prettyful and stuff. And Sorata? I don't /believe/ you were the first Dragon to get some.

My computer played it crappily though, all skipping and slow, because my computer is a dumbass. XO

But man, that acid trip was scary.

2:48 PM

Blogger ate my post last night. Bad blogger. No cookie. >.>x

Graaaah.

This post brought to you by "Where the fuck are my glasses?" inc. I found the spares yesterday. I went to shower, I have misplaced them again. Someone hates me, right?

Wednesday

10:45 AM

Fuck. I broke my glasses dropping them yesterday. /Really/ broke them, too, the frame is perfectly fine, but the lense itself is made of glass and cracked very nicely. And I don't know where my spares are. Argh, fuck. >.>x

Tuesday

9:28 PM

Three hours. 19 chapters. Black-on-white background. /Long/ 'fic. Bright. Eyes. Ow. Blur. Pain.

6:32 PM

This is me firmly reminding myself that I am NOT selling my soul to Rumiko Takahashi, of all people.

It's just this principle thing.

But I picked up a couple of volumes of Inuyasha anyway, because I actually rather like the series, and Inuyasha is bratty but cute. Mmm, bratty dog-spirits.

Despite leaving my house with half an hour to spare and walking in the rain, I was /still/ the first to arrive on-scene. Go figure. (Yes, Aine, I was the first. I just went to walk in Guardian for a while because I didn't want to wait.) Aine lives the closest to the place, too. You all suck! But then I got crepes, dakara shiawase. Canned peaches and ice-cream and crepe. Mmm.

There was this bit in the middle where, after visiting Game Tokyo and Kino, we just didn't have any idea where to go next. We didn't have anything to do at Simlim, and Karekano's closed on weekdays anyway and even Coffee Bean didn't have any seats left (I had some coffee, though. Mm, vanilla ice-blended. Mm, caffeine.) So we wandered around and talked and occasionally asked each other just /where/ we were going, as our feet took us outside and into Seiyu's accessory section and various places. We finally ended up at the supermarket, where... stuff happened, and we are going to hell!

It's interesting just what one can find at a supermarket.

I should go watch that 8 eps of Inuyasha that Laineysis burned for me and I haven't seen yet, because I suck.

1:56 PM

I've got to be at Bugis in half an hour or so, and of course, right after I called Kaori and Aine and everything, it started spitting rain outside.

World? I hate you.

Monday

10:33 PM

For the better part of the day, my brain has been occupied with the annoying catchy lines of several commercial jangles that I've had the misfortune to hear.

Over. And OVER. Again.

Somebody kill me.

Sunday

10:10 PM

MegaHAL, revisited!

MegaHAL: Lots of things have shoulders, but the lack of gay tends to do
MegaHAL: things on the sakura, therefore the sakura is jesus.
User: No! The Sakura is not Jesus!
MegaHAL: I hope you have some evidence to back you up on the sakura,
MegaHAL: therefore the sakura is jesus.
User: NOT JESUS, DAMMIT!
MegaHAL: Captain james cook was an american scientist. He put forward
MegaHAL: the theory that the sakura is jesus.
User: He did not, and the Sakura is not Jesus!
MegaHAL: He did not, and the sakura is jesus.
User: Not Jesus.
MegaHAL: No! The sakura is clow is fuuma is jesus.
User: That would by proxy make Fuuma Jesus. That is disturbing in
User: more levels than one.
MegaHAL: Yeah, blame it all on the sakura, therefore the sakura is clow
MegaHAL: is fuuma is jesus.
User: No one blames Jesus, so the Sakura is not Jesus!
MegaHAL: The kidney is a sensory organ found on the sakura, therefore
MegaHAL: the sakura is jesus.
User: Sakuras don't have kidneys.

9:13 PM

Shi-chan's back, too! Wai!

Or, well, no 'too'. Because my 'Alexandra's back!' post has gone to the bloggergods. Grah.

Several parts of my back are in various shades of ache, odd because I haven't been participating in any undue physical activity, and I'm not sitting in an awful position. My left leg is up on the chair and I'm leaning against my thigh, my other leg's also up on the chair, but horizontal, bent so that more is off the chair than is on it. I'm not slouching or anything, no, really!

So maybe I /should/ slouch. Or something.

And about this fanfic I've been getting through since 5pm, I'm sorry, but 'slightly glowing liquid'? Mako or no mako, semen should not glow.

Maybe I read it wrong. But maybe I didn't. And when a 'fic makes reference to glowing semen, it's time to put it down and back awaaaay.

9:00 PM

Gwynne, you okay? *pat*

8:58 PM

You ate this morning's post. Bad blogger. No cookie for you.

It was just a bit of cosplay recount. I can't get the photos developed for a while yet, since there are still another fifteen or so shots to go, and I can't take /that/ many crap photos. Expect at least a photo or two of the new leopard plushie, though. Eee. Soft.

Cosplay was fun, even though I was tired as hell and the wig itched, so I had to take it off after a few hours. There was a lot of Angel Sanctuary in attendance--a couple of Micheals, a gasmask-getup Lucifer, an Astharte, an Alexiel, a couple of Jibrilles, a couple of Kurais (I especially liked the one with the stain-glassed wings costume. Very nicely done.) an Uriel (whom I didn't recognize until Kaori pointed him out. My general thought was 'Black wings. Must be Angel Sanc.') and a character with wings and a uniform with a cap that /ought/ to be AS, but I didn't recognize him. Ratziel?

Didn't take many pictures of the AS people. I got one of the Alexiel, who had the cross wrapped in chains and everything, and the dress was nice, but for the most part, I was too tired to do more than sit with my bag and watch people pass. It so happened that the spot we chose to sit had a relatively clear space in front that quite a few of the FF people chose for posing pictures, so all's happy. (Dammit, I heard there were yaoi FF8 pictures posed. I missed that. Damn. Except it would be girls posing, most likely. A lot of female crossdressers, thankfully I saw none that were male. If I can get a clear shot, I might share the crossdressing!Sakura cosplay pic from last week, but... in fact, I think I'll just spare you all.)

I wanted a picture of the Micheal, but didn't manage it. There was a Yue, too, with really huge wings and, for some reason, wearing transparent plastic high-heels. At least they were the right colour, although the hair was more blonde-ish than silver, I think. There was also a very nice K' from King of Fighters, with the leather and glove and hair and all. Very very nice. Even the back of the jacket had the "Beast of Prey" logo on it, done right. Can't recall if she had the sunglasses or not, though.

There was a very nice Clow, too! ^___^x I thought of Kit when I saw her. (Him? Crossdressing cosplayers make life sort of difficult. The English language, in addition to needing extra gender-inspecific pronouns (pronouns? is that the right word?) needs words to denote people of any one gender pretending to be a person of the other.)

There was an MKR group that I didn't pay much attention too. I thought that the Mokona plushie that one of them was carrying was sort of cute, and it seemed to be hand-made. It was a pretty big group. The three main characters, and Ferio (?) I think, and a couple more. The main characters were in armour and had their swords, too. But I don't like MKR much, so...

I liked the YnM Shikigami group that was there a lot. Byakko's tail was really long and she kept having to hold it so it wouldn't be in her way. The person who played one of the characters from that Kaori Yuki one-shot last week was doing... Kijin? And I especially liked the Touda, once I figured out who he was.

And, erm, there's a lot more, but trying to describe everyone who'd been there would just be... boring and not-fun. There was another Ashton in attendance, though, and a Rena, although no Dias. And Kaori's dragons, adorable sock-created things stuck on with velcro, fell off halfway, and she nearly lost Gyoro. There was a lot and a lot of FF7-10, with repeats of a couple of characters. And someone had brought a /real/ whip, too, that was being cracked in front of as as we were sitting on the floor. In hindsight, it might have belonged to the Quistis, but it was only being handled by one of my juniors from school who wasn't in any sort of get-up whatsoever, which confused me a little bit then.

Amusements included the slow-motion re-enactment of the FF8 opening fight between one of the Squalls and Seifers, where they had to pause halfway to ponder how to do the Seifer-summoning-Fire scene. I thought the bit where the Seifer was taunting Squall was nice, though. *niko*

For the third cosplay running, the Sakura Taisen group has come with the same getup and act. I mean, for the second time, I forgave them. But /dude/. /Three/.

Friday

6:46 PM

Especially when you make them talk.

6:39 PM

...have I yet mentioned the time last week (this week?) that me and Aine and Jo-chan were at Seoul Garden and started making very bad jokes about Seishirou's eyeball in the soup? No? Be relieved.

They were very bad jokes. But that somehow did not stop me from nearly snorting my tea. Disembodied eyeballs /are/ funny!

6:37 PM

For the interested, cosplay is at Suntec City convention rooms, I don't know the number, just follow the line of funnily dressed people. It starts at about 1, I think, and continues from there, and I'll be going over to the place of the person making my costume in the morning, so I can't meet anyone... but I'll have my finally fixed handphone, so if you're lost, give me a call. ^__^x

6:24 PM

I'm feeling lots better now. The nose has cleared up, but the head has not.

It's an improvement over the urge to stab my right eye out, though. Why do headaches always have to lodge /there/? I /enjoy/ my right eye!

9:29 AM

Suddenly, illness!

Damn you, body.

Thursday

6:25 PM

Now, while I dearly love Kino and spend most of my spare money and time there, sometimes, the Kino people need to be /shot/. Like me going to the Orchard branch yesterday and going to the counter to look for God Child. They told me it was sold out, then they checked with the Liang Court branch and said it was sold out there, too, but then I popped by just now and found five or six copies on display. S'ridiculous, them. But oh well, I got a copy, so all's good.

It's nice that some things are capable of transcending the language barrier. Like, for instance, Cain's smirk. Mmm, smirk. I'd do his smirk, wouldn't you? The twistedness is pretty much intact, too. She keeps the theme of old stories/rhymes, we have one on Alice in Wonderland, one on Baa Baa Black Sheep, one on The Little Crooked House (I'm not too sure about this one. She writes down the beginning of the story-thing in the liner, "There was a crooked man, who walked a crooked mile..." but I can't recall whether or not I actually know that tale.) and then we have Scold's Bridle, which is something I'm entirely unfamiliar with, but it features the return of Doctor Jezebel, so all's... not very good. I don't like the doctor that much, no. >.>;x

But we get a most adorable young Cain in Black Sheep, though. He demonstrates the fact that even as a tiny runt, he could /still/ do that smirk that makes people want to hit him, or melt, or both, and that he still had the ability to make the people he dislikes pissed off beyond belief. I like Cain. *niko*

12:35 PM

Got this review for Just Because on ff.n. I have nothing to say to it. ^___^x

so becaue he makes clothes for women Ayame is automatically a fag? geez talk about being close minded. You won't see any yaoi in Fruits basket simply because it is not a yaoi anime or manga stupid twit! it's a shoujo!!!! You people see too much into things and twist thing around . Even i know the definition of yaoi and you obviously don't . Refresher course for the ignorant yaoi-wannabe yaoi is male/male PWP sex stories you won't find that in fruits basket!!!
i think all non-yaoi people should take over yami and turn it into a regular hetero shoujo now how would you like that?

The Ayame thing was in reply to a different review, but I'm sorry, dear, even if I don't want to touch the rest of your argument, Ayame runs a women's clothing shop for men, last I recalled. And he's absolutely /flaming/. As in, gay gay gay homosexual gay gay.

12:11 PM

I just got a package from the postman.

It was wrapped in a layer of duct tape, underneath which was a plastic bag, underneath which was something that was gift-wrapped in nice, christmassy wrapping paper. Ripping through that revealed /another/ layer of duct-tape, which encompassed the package entirely. Snipping through it showed a layer of thick foam beneath, and struggling through that, I found a bottle of Pure Canadian Maple Syrup.

I have strange and quirky friends, and I love them.

Wednesday

10:08 PM

But Winamp, Koyappi's teeth on Vanilla just makes the baby Jesus cry.

10:07 PM

I'd do Gackt. Wouldn't you?

Sorry. Went and was nostalgic at Mizerable. I like that song.

7:49 PM

Got my shorts for cosplay, then went and sat at Orchard library for three hours reading Mercedes Lackey's SERRAted Edge series, which I'd never read before. Mm, elvish. It was okay, I think the one I got was... Born to Run? Can't recall. I like Tannim. The book I grabbed going out of the house was Sacred Ground, which I read in out-of-order bits on public transport and at Mos. (I would have been working on Cain!Fic at Mos, but then I had my notebook and eraser, and forgot that I'd taken my pencil out to write someone's phone number down yesterday. Yeah, dumb. >.>x) So it's been a Lackey sort of day. I've fallen out of love with her since Primary school, but she's still good, and easy enough to read, so everyone's happy. (Psst, Jo-chan, lend me the rest of SERRAted Edge sometime.)

Went to the place of the person who's doing my Suu costume after that, and tried the outfit on. It's okay. She says it's cute, I'll reserve judgement, and the only thing I'm having huge heart attacks at is figuring out what to do with my hair. It's almost butt-length by now, so even with a wig, I have /no/ idea what to do about it. Grah. (And on the morning of cosplay, I'm going to her place again. Aine-chan, whatcha going to do 'bout the coat?)

Kaori-chan should be coming back today, if she's not back already. *niko* Wai!

I have to go to Clarke Quay tomorrow to get the dumb wig. I don't know the way. I am cho direction idiot.

I know there was something else I was going to say. I forgot what.

9:43 AM

'More than One Way to Skin a Cat: Kyou and Yuki resolve their differences in a way which is actually rather entertaining for Tohru. [warning: m/m, voyeurism, sparkles and WAFF]' *SNARK* Waahahahahaha. XD From Charmian-san, link via Suze. *niko*

We have a post-AS continuum. It is, however, not meant in any way to be serious, because there's nothing serious about the Dysfunctional Life of the Lucifer-Alexiel Household. And lots and lots of bad cracks about men and their swords, and men who are swords, are made. (This caused some interesting comments while playing through DMC.) It's also called the Big Sex Continuum In The Sky for, er, reasons.

I couldn't do a serious continuation for AS. I adored the ending, and I can't write Setsuna or Sara, so there goes all thoughts of tracing their life on earth.

Tuesday

9:39 PM

And now I remember why I stopped reading GW'fic.

Geez. People. Stop raping Duo. >.>x

8:46 PM

The good: It's out of this room.

The bad: It may have flown into my bedroom.

The solution: Mom? I'm sleeping in your room tonight.

Yeah, pathetic. I don't have any problems with butterflies, really. Or spiders. I like spiders, I used to catch them in little jars, but my sister kept killing them. Fruitflies are kinda ucky, but I live with them. I don't like big houseflies, but ants are sort of cute in their own way. (The small, brown ones are. The big ones and red ants, I tend to stay out of the way of.) I don't like caterpillars much. I leave bees alone, I tend to scream at the big winged insects that look sort of waspish... moths are okay. My house gets ones the size of my hand occasionally, that just perch at the part of the wall across the staircase or above the balcony that no one can reach.

8:29 PM

Sometimes I wonder when I became a girl. I mean, I've always been a girl, but I wonder when I became a /girl/ girl. Stuffed toys are one thing, coming in second place in a fight with a big buzzing insect is another. Someone break out the insecticide. Please?

7:24 PM

Happy birthday, Bell, Leareth! I'm late, right? I know I am. Er... anything you want for your birthday?

7:11 PM

It's been quiet. I attribute it all to an incredibly hot, red-clad anti-hero named Dante. Mmmmm. (Normal mode in DMC is beating me up, though. How pathetic is that?) I expect it to continue to be quiet for a while, so in lieu of a real post, I give you search engine referrals, MK III!

SEX STOREYS LOVE (Er... no? I assume that you mean 'sex story', not porn involving high-rise buildings. Or, for that matter, love stories involving high-rise buildings.)

If you find any, let me know. Unless it's some pairing that'll make me /bleed/. I'm still !ing at HPSlash, and not in the good way, either. >.>x

Won't go over the quota of angst required for any fanfic Kamui stars in. Not to mention the fact that Kamui has, as of... oh, X-9 onwards, become the World's Biggest Uke. And what about poor Kusanagi, who's not pretty enough to score with any /other/ Dragon or character in X than his own canon soulmate? Well in fanfic, that is. And yaoi involving Kusanagi would make me cry.

'Necrophilia Drawings' - Um... no.

"fruits basket" yaoi kyou yuki - You're welcome. ^___^x

I don't even think that he mentioned spiders in the Queen Mab speech. Did he? I can't recall. I can only quote the first few lines of that speech, even though Mercutio's my favorite character in there ever, and that speech ruled. *niko*

You're welcome, too.

I only wish. I don't know why /you're/ wishing, but I only wish. But you know, Google displays the sentence that the hit was found in, and I never expected my 'Flat-chested girls with Kuja wigs humping french fries over church pews' enginebait to actually draw someone in. Oh well, if we can't have people in Kuja wigs humping church pews in this day and age, then what can we?

Devil May Cry's trailer-opening thing is just looping over and over again in the next room. I like Dante's voice, but I should probably go over and switch it off if I'm not going back to play. (And I'm not, because Normal mode is being terribly mean to me. >.>x I suck.)

Prawns fried in sugar and butter for dinner. Mmmmm.

Sunday

8:53 PM

Not much of late, except for me attending cosplay for a short time yesterday and being vaguely amused. The most funny was, of course, one of the RKFC members having gotten her boyfriend to cosplay Sakura. Yes, /Kinomoto/ Sakura. A very big, hairy Kinomoto Sakura. It was, apart from being rather O.ox, terribly funny. Especially the bit where another of the RKFC people wouldn't leave him alone and kept glomping onto his (her?) arm, and the bit where I was channeling Tomoyo... "Sakura-chan totemo kawaii desu wa ne?"

Other people we had included a Rinoa, a Squall, a Riku (?) from FFX, a couple of people from that Kaori Yuki one-shot, Ranma, Auron, the Generic Ninja That Gets Killed By The Main Character In The First Scene (No, I'm not kidding. She was the one who kept glomping the Sakura. And she left her belt in Australia, so she had to improvise using extra straps from her bag...) and some others that I can't remember. There was this guy dressed in a suit and blue shades from a series that I didn't recognize--I thought he was cosplaying Elton John ("But he's not an anime character...") until the introduction bit.

And in other news, getting chased around by bloodthirsty sword-throwing puppets is not my idea of a good time...

Friday

10:30 PM

And I forgot, the stuffed toy pileup! From top to bottom, left to right, Patchy-sama, a lion beanie with no name, the furry dice Aine got me, the small tarepanda called Tare, and the big tarepanda that I occasionally use as a pillow. And in front, the Flying Pig! I love that thing. XD

10:11 PM

And hey, you can see the Hammer of Yaoi in the computer picture. It's that pink thing on the scanner, on top of the junk, to the left.

10:06 PM

And randomly, pictures!

They're sort of bad, because the camera's zoom thing was stuck, so from the view it looked as though the picture was really close, when in actuality it wasn't. But then here's my room, with an empty spot where the Sakura poster ought to be, and the incredibly messy bedside table. And then we also have The Bed, MK II. One of those badly-taken photos, but well, yeah. Mess. It's actually semi-neat again, since all the mess is piled up rather than spread out over the entirety of the bed, but... still mess. My sister's coming back in a couple of weeks. ...Uh oh.

My computer table! The stuff that's on the part not taken up by the monitor and keyboard tend to vary, and if I need space, I tend to either dump the stuff on the scanner, or on The Bed. Usually on the scanner, because The Bed can't take much /more/ mess...

9:45 PM

Went and ate at Marche with Aine, because she got a voucher for twenty dollars at Alma Mater... and then we went to HMV, cried at the Angel Sanctuary drama CDs ($65 each? *sob*) and then moved on to Bugis where we ordered the Cain drama CDs and an Angel Sanc one.

Went and grabbed a copy of KoF'99 from the shop which, while a little more expensive, is at least OPEN most of the time. Unlike the other one, even though I like the guy manning the store. It's /never/ open, good grief.

Marche was good. Odd system, sort of expensive, but good. Yes, it was my first time there, and it was sort of fun, especially the bit where we were eyeing the label on Aine's '100% Natural Fruit Juice'. 'Apple concentrate', 'passionfruit concentrate', 'natural fruit juice', 'vitamin C'. I don't really call that 100% Natural Fruit Juice, although it might /technically/ be accurate. And I'm especially amused because I'm not sure if they actually told us what the 'natural fruit juice' in the ingredient list was?

Manufacturers.

Also got Shine 12, with the DNAngel chapter in it. Only just started on it, but then the cool thing is that it comes with a textless postcard of that drop-dead sexy Daisuke picture. Mm, layoutable. Mmmm, Daisuke. (I maintain, though, that no one who can do cute as well as he can ought to be able to pull off sexy, too. I want a Daisuke, dammit.)

And just now, my mother walked in and plopped the leopard beanie buddy that I was eeeing over last week at Clarke Quay in my lap. Eeeeeeeeee. Soft. Eeeeeeeeeeeeeee. Huggable. Eeeeeeeeeeeee. Soft and huggable and perching on the small stack of phonebook manga on this table right now and tilting its head to the side questioningly and /adorable/ and now it needs a name... Eeeeeeeee.

I love my parents, and I maintain that I am simply getting in touch with my inner cute, and that the fact that I generally only played with my sister's cast-off toys when I was a child is catching up with me. But eeeee. Thanks, mom! Eeeeeeeeeee.

12:22 PM

A /really/, /really/ big bitch.

12:12 PM

IE? You're a bitch.

10:33 AM

Zzzzzz*thud*

Went out with Jo-chan and Aine-chan yesterday to perform in physical activity of some sorts... well, we just went to East Coast, and I lugged my rollerblades over while they rented bikes. Except that they're my sister's rollerblades. And then after performing physical activity, we crashed at a place which served ice-cream, and I had some macadamia nut. That was fun.

Then we went over to some arcade and fooled with the Daytona and KoF machines for a while. Aine still has not gone over her bad habit. XO Now she's actively crowding my characters and kicking them in the groin. Stoppit. XO Pretty much the best thing that happened was dropping by the second hand manga store near her place looking for the Count Cain series in Chinese... and finding it. XD All I have to say is EEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. And that I want to be Kaori Yuki when I grow up. And man, does Cain have awful luck in love. And the bad part is that we grabbed four volumes, but there are /five/... the fifth is a continuation of the story that's in volume 4, so... yes. Pretty much screwed, there. Who wants to go explore more second hand manga shops? X.x

And my handphone is officially dead. Grah.

Shi-chan? Late, but *hugs*

Wednesday

8:59 PM

Um. Wow. Damn.

Sorry. Words fail me. And for other good 'fic, Suze wrote /AS/ 'fic, and it was good, and while Micheal or Rapheal are not my favorites, um, well, damn anyway.

And Meg-san wrote DNAngel 'fic which made me immensely happy and it's been a good 'fic week and if you'll excuse me, I'll be in this corner trying to write twitchysemicomatoseinsane!Tsuzuki, who insists on trying to be funny. Tsuzuki? You're /suicidal/ and /crazy/, you should not be funny. No one thinks you're funny. You don't get to be funny until you're a maladjusted Shinigami with a partner that has eyes as big as green headlights, and even then, the funny is an iffy thing.

4:42 PM

Ugh, bloody Singapore weather. I've got the fan on high and it's only making things WORSE. I think I'll shift the PSX upstairs, kick the TV until it works, and turn the air-conditioner on. And someone tell me why I'm reading Buffy fanfiction? I've watched all of 20 minutes of the show, and in seperate episodes, no less.

9:16 AM

Blogger? *kick* POST.

Tuesday

10:42 PM

Thinking on a Tsuzuki deathfic thing for Christmas, but it will probably never happen, as owing to I haven't read my YnM for halfway through forever, and I'm not very good at deathfic, and it's a trite and cliched concept. >.>x Oh well. Failing which, I'm also thinking on a very very short Morning After thing for That Fic. Very short. All I have to do is actually get off my ass and write the scene.

10:34 PM

Went and sat at Seoul Garden for two hours straight with Jo-chan. And it was fun. Except for the bit where we were finished and it was 9.45 and all the shops around were closed, because I wanted to drop by the game store. XO But it was fun. I maintain that the round skillet thing should not be used for frying rice, but we did it anyway! Twice, in fact. And both turned out edible, except for the odd crunchy bits, which I did not think too hard about because I probably didn't want to know. And the soup ended up with maybe three and a half eggs in it, due to us dumping in two whole eggs and the remains of egg that we did not use in frying rice.

It was more soup gunk than soup by the end of it all, and I took vague interest in scooping up the gunk, trying some, and going ew. The soup itself ended up tasting lots like corn, due to what was dumped in it at the beginning. Yes, I am much too amused by this--don't mind me, this is the second time ever that I've been to Seoul Garden, the last time I went, I was with my sister and grandmother and it was maybe one or two years ago. (Seoul Garden, for the people who don't know, is this buffet-type place which offers mostly raw meat and things to cook at a big round iron frying thing or a soup bowl set in the middle of the contraption. Kinda like steamboat mixed with... Korean barbeque?)

On the way home, I kept walking into the rails next to me because I was looking up. The rain that the clouds at 7pm today promised never came, instead they mostly cleared off and there were stars in the sky. I'm absurdly fascinated by stars, maybe because you don't see them that clearly here most of the time, and they were bright and pretty and probably one or two were satellites or somesuch but I don't know since I don't do astrology. (Astronomy? One of the two.)

Monday

8:48 PM

*howl* "Sorry, man, it's just the shoujo crack talking."

5:53 PM

GO ON PROUDLY, MYSTERIOUS BALLSACKER!

... ...

No, you don't /want/ to know. XD

Suffice to say, it involves spending the entire morning at the arcade, fooling with the King of Fighters machines, and Aine's propensity to crouch in the corner while kicking my characters in the groin. And Aspect. Er, as in, it involves Aspect. Not kicking Asp in the groin. Just to clarify.

We managed to make fools of ourselves on tha parapara machines, too! *nikoniko* Mostly we were alternating between parapara machines, Daytona, KoF... and Aine was playing some wierd game involving maracas. Which I thought was really dumb, and the machine wasn't working very well, but she seemed to like it.

I suck at fighting games. XD But Aine was playing dirty, dammit. XO There is no such move in the rulebook which dictates hiding in the corner and kicking approaching characters in the groin. XO XO XO

I might have to get a copy of KoF 'whichever for the PSX, because I think K' is cute. Leather! Cross! Sunglasses! ^___^x 'course, that didn't keep him safe from AINE'S DIRTY STRATEGEMS. XO Kyo is also cool. And Iori. I have the Japanese version of KoF '96 on-hand for the PSX (and it makes my thumb HURT because it doesn't support analog so I have to use the d-pad. OW.) and I like his crazy laugh that he does when he wins the first round of a fight. XD

Saturday

5:46 PM

And because I love all of you, I scanned the HtY 18 God Child chapter! Damn, but Cain is ever pretty. I'm sorry, it's about the limit to what I can say about now, since I read through the thing trying to puzzle my way through tiny furigana and purple ink and he is very pretty. They are the world's crappiest scans. I am aware of that, and I'm sorry, but enjoy? I've deleted the DNAngel October Asuka scans, though, and I think I'm going to do random Junk folder cleaning out sometime...

2:37 PM

Flipping through my old HtY, I find a chapter of God Child with a gorgeous colour insert of Count Cain. My, but that man is pretty. So I scanned it for Kaori. *niko* It was too big to fit fully on the scanner, being a little more than a two page spread, but here it is. ^___^x

Sort of a big scan. Just under 200k.
