It was, as though, all of a sudden--she was just /there/, striding down the halls of the building in her black dress and high heels. No one stopped her. She greeted everybody she passed as though they were old friends, leaving a trail of confused Shinigami stopping short in her wake.

She walked with an air of confidence through the maze-like corridors, finally reaching her destination--

"O-/ha/-yo, Tatsumi-san..." she purred throatily, as she walked into the office.

Tatsumi blinked.

"...And you are...?" he asked as politely as he could while trying to back away from the blonde-haired stranger.

Her answer was interrupted by a petite, dark-haired, and /very/ irate figure bursting through the door.

"WA-TA-RIII! WHAT THE HELL DID YOU PUT IN MY COFFEE?!"

I had something interesting to say yesterday. Really, I did.

But now, all that I have to do is demonstrate my patheticness by being in school on a Saturday morning and /blogging/. XD

I spent, in no particular order, twenty minutes trying to get into my email, get into blogger, and get onto IRC. One out of three succeeded. Hotmail is apparently down.

On the plus side, the school library has Douglas Adam books. XD 'm reading Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective agency ^^x Liz is reading Neverwhere. Wai. I love that book to widdle bitses, and am currently trying to force T3-minna-chan-tachi, or something, to read it. XD

It was really pretty, unlike most of the others in the area, which I laugh at, priceless works of art or no. I guess I'm just unappreciative. ^^;x

Programmer at Tripod, have informed us that, in fact, sweeper bug at Tripod went
insane this weekend, and deleted fully half their websites. There was
no purge. There was no selective fannish bashing. It's apparently hugely
embarassing to them, and they're working as fast as they can to get
the sites restored.

Inside scoop from Derek Bruneau, director of engineering and personal
publishing at Tripod:

"What's happened is that a technical glitch caused a bunch of sites to
be removed accidentally. They're being restored today. Believe me, it
wasn't targeted at anyone's site in particular. Lots of different sites [were
swept] --including many of our favorites. It was just a really bad
bug. Small bug, big effect. we're working as quickly as we can to get
everyone's site back online. We know how terrible this is for members,
so we apologize profusely. It's the last thing anyone needed right now."

XD Which is good, because if I did, I would be swearing a lot, and swearing is baaa~aaaaaaad.) annoying me mildly, but now, my crankiness has absolutely nothing to do with Stan, known sometimes as Stupid Piece of Crap. ^^x

Awright! I finally got to see YnM. XD Thanks to the wonderful people at Ochiba XD XD *heartfelt thanks to them* Niiyao, Hisoka seems a bit OOC really, but on the whole, I like it. XD Beautifully clear animation, (although the running sequences make me laugh sometimes) and they've got Tsuzuki's beautifully purple eyes down just right. The voices are good, too. ^^x I've heard some complaints about Tsuzuki's voice, but I think Miki Shin'ichirou did a good job. XD (The clip of him summoning Suzaku.. KYAAAAA ;-;x)

Look, today's blog entry has a title. AND a subtitle. Go me.

A bow towards Pseudo-Democracy
-or, My School Admin Are A Bunch Of Doodooheads-
The title says it all, really. And yes, this /is/ another rant on the School Policy--mes apologies, but hey, this is /my/ blog.

It is... all such... /idiocy/. "Oh, let's restrict the pupils with a bunch of toughly enforced, vaguely explained semi-new rules, they're such /nice/ ladies, my my, they /certainly/ wouldn't mind that any questions they may raise are avoided, ignored, or answered in a way that addresses the topic absolutely zero."

...Ha. Ha. Ha.

They /raise/ us to be independant. To question, to be strong-willed. Then, in an abrupt, apparent turnabout, we get that heap of junk known as... The School Policy. What gives?

And it isn't even the School Policy that I mind that much, or that I think is getting everyone into an uproar--it's the implied mistrust. We are /teenagers/. We do /not/ take kindly to things like that. So, of course, we're not happy--Well, /duh/. And so, "Oh my, looks like the Sec 4's aren't buying the School Policy, lets have an Assembly and "Address" some "Issues", he/llo/ Pseudo-Democracy!

And you know what? I think that the Principal /actually/ thinks that she's answering our questions and making us happy and contented by doing that, hooray for highly selective rose-tinted sunglasses, good/bye/ reality! And I suppose it's /our/ fault, in some part--"Anything anyone wants to say?" "Oh, well, the Prefects are being very annoying with our belts--" Our belts? Oh yes, knowing where our waist is is going to get us /far/ in life, how embarrassing it would be if one got on stage to give a speech, and ones belt was clipped at ones hip...

And yes, /I'm/ at fault too, ranting on my blog rather than directly to the Admin. But hey, I'm shy, and no matter what some people think, I'm not a fool. And no one /else/ is, which is why we grumble and complain about the School Policy amongst ourselves and to some of the more understanding teachers and not to the perpertrators themselves, because nobody wants to hear an announcement in the morning, "Please go and meet the Principal at the Flagpoles after Assembly," because we live in a society where the teacher is quite generally always right, and by extension the Principal, and we're raised to be polite girls, so we won't tell her that it's a bunch of bull to her face. Pity.

And it /is/, (probably), true that the School Policy is meant to help us. The road to Hell is paved with Good Intentions. (Or frozen door-todoor salesmen, but that's just me reading too much Gaiman.) Aine-chan says "The end justifying the means", and /I/ say that for the good of a greater cause means nothing to the people stepped on along the way. And what /is/ the so-called 'greater cause' being discussed here, anyway? The production of happy, uniformed smiley studying machines? Discipline? I think that those who chafe under the restrictions would be even /worse/ when let out from under the school's eye, without anything to restrict them further. But that would be assuming that they have no moral standards of their own, which is unkind, untrue, and unfair.

Maybe I'm overreacting. Actually, I'm probably overreacting. But I don't /like/ Higher-ups mucking about, then giving us an illusion of actually having a say, in order to keep us happy. It's dishonest. It's /rude/. It's an insult to our intelligence. We are, by now, quite capable of telling when a question is being avoided, and also when an apparent 'concession' is exactly that. So don't give us that tripe, RGS. Don't give us that kind of crap and expect us to swallow it.

fuckit. shinigami.org, kumiko-san's more than excellent site, is shutting down.

Why?

Because some stupid idiot decided that posting kumiko-san's 'fic, "Beautiful Stranger", which I recall in my days on the GWML (years back, mm, and kumiko-san /still/ rules) with their own little "edits" would be a GOOD IDEA. Did they ask? No. Were the admin of that particular ML sympathetic to the victim of that absolute blatant plagiarism? No.

I wish she didn't have to shut down shinigami.org--it was one of the nicest, funniest, most well-designed, and the /only/ GW site I still visit. But while I haven't had anybody steal anything from me before, I can sort of understand just how she must feel.
